A question to feeley haters?

Marino would have sucked with that offensive last year. No Line ,no rb. It was dreadfull. Sure he made some stupid mistakes, maybe he was trying to do to much because he had nothing else to relie on. He did have some good throws. I'll give him this season to prove himself. With a stud rb, a decent line maybe he can do something. If at halfway through the season he is still making those bad passes, then it may be time to say goodbye. We won't know until a few weeks in the season.

Marino had TOO many skills to suck. His quick release, his quick decisions, his accuracy, his arm strength. Saying Marino would have SUCKED behind that line (that, by the way, started getting better and better once Bates took over which coincidentally was when Feeley took over permanently - so there goes a chunk of that excuse) is stretching it alot. Marino has way too many skills to simply SUCK. Anyone who would make such a comment: didn't watch Marino play much, doesn't know much about the QB position, doesn't know much about football in general, or are just crazy enough to believe that the skill level seperating Marino and Feeley isn't LIGHT YEARS of difference. I'm not suggesting Marino would have won a Super Bowl behind that line, or went to the pro bowl - but saying Marino would have sucked is just plain ____________. Fill in the blank.

Saban will know before the season starts if he's going to cut it. That's why there is a VERY VERY good chance Gus will start. It isn't a coincedence that Gus was brought here. He was brought here because he knows Linehan's system andhe will be a good QB to fill in until 1) We bring in a better young QB or 2) Feeley learns the offense and improves behind Frerotte. Don't be surprised to see Gus starting this season.

I agree, Looked what he did in Philly when he started. Don't forget that this is a team sport. I agree that some QB's stand out above others however those are a very few. With a new offense, players, coaches, schemes, etc., Feely will do a good job for us without breaking the bank.

We have more quality on our team this year in all areas and this will result in better play at all positions. Remember, your only as strong as your weakest link. We had a wek OL last year, no running game, and a coach who could not win a game in high school football with the plays he called. Last year, the OC did not design plays for the level of talent on the field which resulted in poor play. Have faith. Saban will not let him start unless he's the right guy for the job.

p.s. Marino was a once in a lifetime present for us. Give the new guys a chance and be carefull on who we compare them too.:)

I've never been a Feeley hater, or a Fiedler hater as a matter of fact. I just don't like to hear people saying "its feeleys job to lose". Imo its Gus Frerottes job to lose. AJ Feeley was the worst starting QB in the nfl last year. Gus Frerotte knows Linehans system, and he has more experience. Those are two critical advantages. I think if Feeley beats out Frerotte in training camp he deserves the job, but from what i've seen i just dont see it happening.

There is an oxymoron.

It is wrong to say it is AJ's to lose but ok to say it is Gus's? Sorry but I believe if all things are equal at the end of camp, AJ starts. JMO. AJs younger w/ more otential to be the future. Gus is what 33 or 34? He isnt the future, he is a journeyman qb if he starts it will be because Saban evaluated AJ in camp and doesnt believe we can win with AJ. If Gus does start, you can bet Saban will make qb a major priority next offseason.

There shouldnt be any suprise. You bring up one possibility I had forgotten about. Saban may start Frerrotte for that exact reason, to develop AJ. If AJ plays well and shows Saban some promise but is not as familiar with the system as Gus is, then Gus could start and AJ sit and learn. I still say that at some point Saban will expect AJ to prove he is the guy for the job and if he doesnt, then next year, qb becomes top priority.
 
I just don't get what the arguement is......... We DO NOT have the luxury of teams like the colts, pats, steelers, rams, etc....... in knowing/having a definite capable returning starter. So why not just let them battle it out this offseason, and may the best man win. Feeley, Frerote, Hell even SageCould end up being our starting QB come week one, and it will be because HE IS OUR BEST QB ON THE ROSTER at that time. None of this we need to find out what Feeley can do mess, he's too old for that, and has played enough games to be able to decide this offseason if he should be our starter or not. Whatever he decides I have complete faith in Saban, and truly believe that whoever is our starer will be that guy that SHOULD BE our QB THIS YEAR
 
Its not up to any Dolphin fan to give him a chance, Saban will make up his mind and well have to live with his decision, I for one trust he will make the right choice.
 
ok, maybe I worded it wrong. Marino wouldn't have sucked, but he woudn't have the time to get a play done and thus not the numbers.
