From Andrew Abramson. If this becomes true just call Aponte the Puppet Master...

@AbramsonPBP8h
But again, people say Stephen Ross can be unpredictable so that's just a feeling at this point.

As for Dolphins GM, most people I'm talking to say S.Ross hard to read, but growing feeling Gaine could be promoted to GM w/someone over him

Hard to get a read on what exactly the org chart will look like but if Gaine is the hire than look for Pioli, Mangini or someone of an equivalent status to oversee the operation. Not sure I like that.

It really makes some sense as the Fins are in a transition year and you can give Philbin/Gaine one year to improve this team w/o the Jeff Ireland influences.

It the team doesn't improve/gets worse, you can truly clean house and go after a big name GM and let him lead the search for a HC and potentially a QB depending on the season Ryan Tannehill has.

It's not an ideal option, but it's not one that I'd be too upset with.

This is the plan he should follow if he goes with Gaine. But like Nublar said this is pure speculation and just a couple of days ago there was a report that Ross discounted Gaine and Aponte as potential candidates because they are not complete in their respective skill sets.

This love affair Ross seems to have with Philbin is creating an unnecessary problem IMO. Like I mentioned in a previous thread there is nothing publicly, at least, that indicates Philbin is worth this special accommodation he is being afforded by Mr.Ross.

HE IS NOT WORTH IT!!!

Quite, frankly it's frackin us up. It's further delaying puttin all the right pieces in the right spot from the onset.

IMO, the more "complicated" the front office structure the more problematic it will likely be going forward. He's the GM, But, he really answers to this person and the coach can over-rule him if the capologist also agrees with the Coach. But, the....NOO! NOO!! Frack that!

Not ideal but if the person overseeing things was Marino I wouldn't be too upset.

What GM would take the job after the previous guy was fired after one year?

No thank you he quit on the team when they needed him most. Let him live in his past glory and fond memories.

I really don't understand this silly notion that Marino could come in and play the role Elway plays in Denver. Marino has done nothing to prepare himself for that role. When he had an opportunity years back, to travel that road, he quit on us. Elway had something in him driving him to a FO role; Marino has demonstrated no such drive.

I have no problem with Gaine.

If we promote Gaines and hire Mcadoo from green bay, have we really done anything?
