According to Saban...AJ has outplayed gus in three out of four games....

Aj has put up better stats, but I think that Gus almost has to be the starter right now because he's been taking most of the reps with the starting unit in the preseason. Usually the 3rd-4th preseason game if a team has 5, teams know who the starter will be, and the last preseason game is to see what guys will take the last few remaining roster spots.

I agree that you want your starters settled by now. BUT to say Gus sghould start because we have one preseason game left is a bad argument for starting a guy. If he isnt playing up to starting level, and the other option potentially is, then you see if teh one showing that potential is a better option. Your argument is a grasping at threads argument. it is a " I dont want AJ to start, I dont care if Gus isnt any better and may be worse, I dont want AJ so please let it be to late to pull Gus" argument.

Gus has gotten his reps with the first team and obviously has not benefited. Let's give AJ the chance and stop trying to fit a round peg in a square hole just because our OC knows the round one better.

the odds of BOTH getting hurt are slim. You can't live your life in fear of what MIGHT happen.

Brock won't even be on the team by the time the next game comes around

I dunno.

It was the NE game where we lost Fiedler on a 2nd down play and then we lost Feeley on the 4th down play with a concussion was it? It was on the same drive.

2 QB'S went down in that game with injury. Luckily that 4th down play was the last play of the game.

they both suck but frerotte looked better

Is this a joke? Frerotte looked better? Please,

Frerottes stats:

9/25 103 yds 0TD 1INT

Feeleys Stats:

8/14 90yds 1TD 0INT

For those of you who say that the only reason Feeley did good was b. it was the 2nd and 3rd string D, stfu, Feeley also had to deal with the 3rd and 4th string O.

I'm watching the replay now on a proper TV, cause i could hardly see the game at my friend's hosue last night. Gus's throws are atrocious, 10-15 yards overthrown on some of the deep balls where the recievers are wide open. I can barely throw the football, but I'm confident that I could be as accurate as Gus.

IMHO AJ jas looked progressively better each game and Gus has looked progressively worse. We have faced some of the better defenses in the league this preseason and I know that both QBs have been killed by poor O-line play and a lot of dropped passes. Altogether, AJ has looked a lot better to me. As he has learned this offense, he has become more confident and his passes are on target. I think the O-line looked a ton better last night and with Feeley, that makes all of the difference. Indecision has killed him in the past. Toward the end of last year, he looked a lot better as well. I think that AJ is our man but he may not get to start until after the bye-week or until Gus looks so bad that the coaches don't have a choice.

What games gave you been watching?

People need to get off the dinks and dunks. That **** moves the chains! Big plays will come, atleast Feeley can connect on them. Gus overthrew and underthrew a bunch of balls tonight.

Don't get me wrong Gus knows this offense, but he doesnt have the throwing skills AJ has....

Give AJ time, Gus had his.

we will have to rely on our running game quite a bit and then draft a QB next year

Like who, another college kid? Or maybe Brady or Manning will get a yen to move to Florida? ...J/K...we really are between a rock and a hard place

wonderful, a whole year of having to listen to this type of arguing on here

Whoever starts, the other side is going to cry and moan when the starter doesn't play up to their liking.

IMO, neither QB was anything better than the other last night. Gus plays more controlled and looks more aggressive, but his throws were off. AJ played against scrubs, had good stats, but still acts hyper and throws lasers constantly. AJ is like a china doll too, he was dinged last night as well as they switched to the 4th qrt, he was limping and whincing as he went over to Saban.

I could care less who starts, both are going to end up the same QB stat wise come the end of the year. I just wish the constant bickering would nd here. Can't even come here and find out the latest news without ruffling through multiple posts and threads on this.

I think playing AJ as the back-up until the bye week is probably the new "plan".

From Saban's demeanor about the QB situation, I think he really wanted gus to be able to hold the fort for a few weeks and he knows now that that's going to be asking for more than what gus is capable of doing.

In terms of consistently making the right reads and comfort in the system, I doubt that AJ is ready to run with the first teamers and Saban probably knows that better thn any of us but, I bet he also knows that by week 4 he's going to have a QB change.
I don't know; IMO Feeley is going to end up starting come opening day. I've got to believe Saban has known from the beginning what to expect from Feeley. Other than bringing in Gus (and I thought Saban spoke about needing a veteran back up) Saban really did nothing concerning the QB position. Feeley has not been the pick magnet he was last year and he's completed a respectable amount of his passes. So I just think he's going to be named the starter.

Another point...Here's the thing, our best receiver (supposedly) is Chambers...he dropped two nice passes, who was QBing on those throws?

This argumentgives off bad vibes... it reminds me too much of last years QB controversy....:(
