Berlin has performed well when he has gotten his chance, why would you risk losing him by putting him on the practice squad for a guy who is being cut by the Aint's...... Mcphearson is being beat out by Kliff Kingsbury for Christ Sakes.............

Pretending that we get McPherson off waivers (which I doubt will happen).. I would cut Sage and put Berlin on the PS. I strongly disagree with these cut Berlin replies. Berlin has been a nice surprise and Sage is in his last year. If Feeley doesn't improve he will become a cap casuality next year. If we cut Berlin and have a bad season, we may only be left with Gus and McPherson next year. If McPherson doesn't pan out, then it's just Gus and whoever we draft, and that's scares me a little.

My reasoning is that teams would pick up McPherson if he were on the PS because of his athletic ability, while Berlin is more likely to attract only mild interest. A ton of teams are on the lookout for anyone who draws comparisoins to Vick. It's not that McPherson has shown anything better than Berlin in the NFL (in fact, Berlin has been better), but that we are more likely to keep both through this scenario. Frankly, neither is ready to start and in a perfect world, they would both go on the practice squad for a year.

But I really don't see how McPherson would go on waivers. I know New Orleans is fairly deep at QB, but you don't squander a recent draft pick like that. If Saban wants him, I'm certain he'll need to trade. New Orleans might be enticed by a guy like Derrius Thompson, or a couple of our LBs on the bubble.

To sum up what I wrore alot about this afternoon:

AMac will not be cut.

That is all.

i think we should pick him up drop Sage and put Berlin on practice squad or McPherson on practice squad and Berlin 3rd string

I dont think we should take any chance on this guy. He is a run first QB...someone we will need to teach how to play QB. Beyond that he has serious off the field issues. I'm all for giving guys second chances...but we have enough second chance guys here. I saw him play at FSU and in the arena league...nothing i saw made me want to see him in a miami uniform. I would rather call Doug Johnson and have him suit up...

There will be several QB available next year in free agency and the draft...lets be patient. Not desperate.

Agreed. He wouldn't clear waivers...a lot of teams were interested in his upside, but wanted to play the waiting game and get him as late as possible just in case he didn't pan out. Expect Saban to make a move for Davey. And Rohan Davey would be an upgrade over all the Phins' QBs right now.

McPherson is a cancer.....we might as well have Lawrence PHillips or Cecil Collins back. Also, he was thrown out of FSU (who put up with a lot of bad apples) and he has already lost his backup position with the Saints...No thanks.....not Saban material period.

If he is cut we definitely pick him up.

He has too much athletic talent to not take a look at him

I'm not willing to sign him at all considering his convictions with the law, being removed from his college team, and then he's unable to even make the Saints team.

Something there just tells me no. But if I had to, I would compare him to Berlin. Maybe more athletic, but not as good mentally. So which one do you put on the PS? And while on the PS, he could be signed to any team at any time. So then whats the point?

I say we grab him and put him on the practise squad and if anyone wants to pick him up off us they can.

If he gets cut, it means he couldn't beat out Kliff Kingsbury, so I wouldn't bring him in. He should stick to gambling or the arena league if he can't make the Saints.

Of all teams in the NFL, the Phins fans have the least room to talk about the Saints depth at QB.
