I agree with all of your posts in this forum about the media. One thing I want to point out though, is the bolded statement is no different than any business out there. The difference is that they are a union, which can push their demands through the roof. In business, if an employee wants more money, the owner decides, do I give him a raise or do I settle for a lesser talent? If the owner chooses lesser talent, then the employee take his skills elsewhere. If he can't find a job, then maybe he needs to lower his asking price. None of this is possible because of the freaking union. If the union goes away, the game of football with be much more enjoyable and affordable for fans. And it is about the fans, not the players, because if the fans don't go to the games, the NFL ceases to exist anyway, and the players, for the most part can go make $10-$15 and try to pay their bills that way.
