After dealing with the initial shock

the only corners i can think of out there are t buck, ty law and deion sanders......not the best list

Ty Law becomes a real option now.

He lives in Miami in the offseason and would enjoy the challenge of sticking it to Belichick.

We have a cap room and could get creative with a 1 or 2 yr deal.

Only problem is his foot.

LOL that would be really funny.

I was so disappointed, I thought Will Poole was the steal of that draft. He showed promise when Surtain was out last season, I really hope he comes back soon.
I think this puts Reggie Howard as the frontrunner for the position with Travis Daniels a close second.

Lets just relax a minute and wait for the final determination on the injury. Losing Poole hurts, but as others have eluded to its not the end of our season. Our success on D has little to do with how well the corners perform. Ultimately we need to get pressure on the pocket and not allow time for plays to develop. I would like to think stopping the run would be more important than losing a second year cornerback, although with nice upside, with limited experience. Yeah it sucks but there are alot worse things that could happen on the defensive side of the ball.

After dealing with the initial shock of losing a prospective starter there are big issues at hand. A dried up market for corners, a rookie pool that has dried up, Roundtree recovering from injury, and Howard, Haw, and Edwards the real candidates now (Mitchell is likely to be on IR). Leaves me with visions of a long season. We shall see if Daniels is up to the task.
Ray Green and a couple of street free agents were at the rookie camp. Not encouraging. Antwan Rogers is about the only name corner that didn't get drafted. He is from Purdue.

Any suggestions out there finheaven world?

Who's Haw? I'm expecting Madison, Howard, Edwards, and Daniels to be our top 4 corners.

They are about all that are healthy

The four you listed are all that can run practice right now. they need to sign someone to actually run mini camp I would think

I am disappointed as well, I really thought Will Poole was going to have a break through season this year and claim the #2 CB position with Sam. However, he's one player in an 11 man defense. If losing Will Poole is the difference between a successful season and an unsuccessful one, then we've got more problems than we thought. We will be ok, our defense will be fine and we'll pull together, because that's what good teams with good coaches do. Heck, the Patriots lost 3 of 4 starters in their secondary last season, didn't seem to be a bump in their road. Why? Because they have good coaching and a good plan of attack each week. Relax and have faith in our defensive coaching staff to do the same.

Seeing as how Saban's specialty is the secondary and seeing what NE did decimated with injuries in the secondary, I am not worried.

exactly right, losing poole is not a huge problem, after the pats lost their starters they were able to plug players in and they did the job, even earthwind morland who really sux....

law is not the answer, his foot is not healing properly and he will never be the same player like he was a few years ago, t buck might be an answer he still has some game left in him

At least it happened now and not a month before the season. We still have plenty of time to make moves and sign people. It's not like Will Poole was a savior. We had the best CB tandem in the league for years, it doesn't automatically mean we're going to the Super Bowl. Obviously we need to get one of the "washed out" free agents like T-Buck but you gotta do what you gotta do.
