He may have had the chance to pick only one QB during his tenure. Do we know whether he or someone else was responsible for Chad Henne?

If GMs can't be viewed as good unless they pick a good QB, and the only QB Jeff Ireland may be responsible for is still an unknown quantity, then how can Jeff Ireland be viewed as a bad GM?

Shouldn't then Jeff Ireland be the same unknown quantity, to be later defined when perhaps the only QB he's ever been responsible for becomes a known one?

Jeff Ireland. The GM is the top dog and in charge of football operations etc.. Everything trickles down from there. He acts like a clown, through asking dez about his mom, to telling JM to punch incog in the face, to miss handling pretty much every decision in the last few years. Philbin is Ross's guy, not irelands guy (hence the tension). Ireland is like a Shady car salesman, looking to bury anyone to keep his job making excuse after excuse, and feeding the owner crap. We need an established, classy, focused, person to do this job. Look at the top teams every year, Common tread they all have good leadership put mostly in place by the GM. Flip side Jerry Jones wont get out of his own way, Any cowboys fan will tell you he needs to get a good GM. Al davis same way. We aren't changing the owner anytime soon so we might as well get a new GM. Bottom line it just seems for every 1 thing he does right there are 12 in serious question. Its starting to get dishearted following my beloved Fins........

Because we need another thread about Ireland being the problem and needing to be fired. Why not just make a post in one of the other 50 threads saying the same exact thing??

My whole entire defense of Jeff Ireland is based on the fact that people hate the man because of what supposedly happened with Dez Bryant. Once again, the hatred of the man preceeds any real judgement about his ability to draft and get FA's. It was proven in a thread weeks ago. It is more political movement type environment in here with Ireland. And this proves it. People want him gone for one main reason....Dez Bryant. Everything else that follows, is just looking to pile on any chance they get to get rid of him.

If JI is gone tommorrow, I will not lose sleep. I will just pray they will find someone who can do the job and work under these circumstances.

datruth speaks the truth!! exectly on the money and with the current set of roster probs no way Ireland get a pass, at least in my book. It seems like every decision we trust him to make weakens the team. We should have Brandon Marshall! I saw him on ESPN and he was cool as hell and seemed to have his life together. With Brandon on our team we win 10 games imo. The o-line better get fixed in a hurry. Is it the scheme we're running or are the players really that bad?

Well I don't really care about the question anymore just that he passed over a good player and took on even more troubled players.
I guess he didn't ask Martin the right questions. As for the question none of us know how it came up so u cannot attack or defend based on that. We can say that the question should never have been asked regardless of how it came up but professionalism from our Gm of course is not to be expected I guess

How many playoff rosters have god awful o-lines? He doesn't even have injuries as an excuse, the reason we ended up so thin was the guy he drafted and the guy he refused to cut took each other out.
