Aj tonight = A lot better than you think

Frerotte definitely showed that he was comfortable in the playbook, even if it was with second stringers against second stringers. He looked fluid where Feeley looked spastic. Gus looked confident where Feeley looked overburdened. The roles will be reversed next week, we'll see if Saban has two good second stringers at QB, or a deserving starter and a good back-up.

(just add water)

Nail.Hit.Head.

AJ = Awful
Gus = solid tonight.

Thats all i ask of our qbs this year. Just dont have me pulling me teeth out cause youre throwing int's when youre getting hammered. Gus once again showed what Ive said all offseason he can do; manage a game effectively. I know its only preseason but at least he looks like hes got a functioning brain out there.

AJ has no pocket awerness and breaks under slightest of pressure.

Heck Berlin looks better, and yes I know it's scrubs in the game. Maybe AJ should play now so he can look good???

Ok... all the gus supporters are watching this game with blinders on. It was clear from the play-calling that A.J is not 100% comfortable in the system and he still played pretty well. Here's what I saw that the gus supporters did not see:

1. Gus underthrew CC that got him a 44 yrd. completion.

2. The TD was clearly a desperation throw he was on the run and jus threw it so it wouldn't get picked heck of a catch by Gilmore.

3. Gus supporters I guess you missed Thompson's drop.. oh yea the pass that was right on the money that went right through Derrius's hands.

4. If I hear from one more of you gus bus's or whatever that is that A.J doesnt step up in the pocket I'll go insane did or didn't AJ get hurt on a play where he stepped up.

5. And finally Gus you killed the Bears 2nd team way to fu**in go

Let's see how Gus does Sat. then make judgements.

Yeah but he was playing with the 2nd team offense. So you're making the point that Gus looked like a starter playing against backups? I think for the future of the team most people would agree, Aj winning the job would be the best thing, but I don't think the team can hand him the job. The TD throw to Gilmore was not on the mark, but he gave his WR a chance to catch the ball, Thompson had a chance to catch the ball you speak of, but he didn't, and obviously the surronding players have to play well for a Qb to play well. After today I would be very surprised if AJ is the starter.

Come on, when Chicago had their first string defense in there our O-line looked very similar to the wet paper bag it did last year. I saw very little protection and Urlacher wasn't even touched on his blitz that knocked Feeley out. Once the Bears took out their starters I saw very little pressure on Frerotte, I don't really think it was a fair comparison.

i wouldn't say awful, it was just the same ole aj feeley. he can't handle the blitz, the bears knew it and put heat on him all night, and all the teams in the afc east have a better d than the bears, so you know they are licking their chops hoping to see feeley behind center. he threw a couple of nice comebacks and dt should have caught that pass, but the sign that he can't read defenses was evident- he went through one progression the whole game. he hasn't changed at all in my eyes; he's still the same guy- a qb that needs more than ideal conditions to succeed in the league, and he won't get those conditions this year.

Shoot I was more impressed with the time the QB had on most plays. This OL seems to be light years ahead of last years version. I love it!
