So the news just keeps getting better . Wonder what the conditions are. Watch it turn into a 5th round pick. So in the end it will be like the Dolphins trading Ajayi for Stephone Anthony . Speaking of Anthony will he ever play a down for the Dolphins in 2017?
Conditional does not go lower, it stays as is or goes up based off of yards, carries, playtime, ala an incentive. You’d want Ajayi to do well in this case, ups our compensation.

A colleague of mine that’s a Saints fan was incredulous they gave him up for a measly 5th. It’s all about perspective.

Are you 100% sure about that? I remember teams (including the Dolphins) trading players for conditional picks before only to end up getting no pick at all due to the players health, playing time or other stipulations. So are we sure that the conditions can't change the compensation to a lower pick? Not sure where the rule is that says either way.

I’m sure this deal is structured that if Ajayi got hurt they still give up the 4. He passed his physical, and will get playing time. I know it’s baseball, but Jesse Crain, for example, was traded one year from the White Sox to the Rays for a PTBNL/Cash, never played and still received cash. Brett Favre was traded to the gets for a conditional 4th when he came out of retirement to the Jets. Packers received a 3 because he played in x amount of games. I guess what I’m alluding to is that conditional picks in the NFL stay the same or go up based on incentives.

Now that I read Armando's article about Ajayi's piss poor attitude I am glad he is gone. I was shocked at first because I didn't know he was such a problem in the locker room. I have been harping all morning long about getting rid of guys who aren't giving it their best if after they have been given a chance to improve they don't or won't. I didn't know he wasn't doing his homework and not properly preparing himself leading into games. Now that I do, C Ya.

The hooded one demands the Patriot way, and he has not been afraid to bench or get rid of anyone. There is a reason he was benched at the beginning of last season, and he has made a ton of mental mistakes this season. I will trust that Gase knows his players.

If he offered anything then he would at least be playing on special teams right now. He hasn't played one down for the Dolphins in the 6 weeks he's been with the team. Seemed like a desperation move by the front office in response to the Timmons situation at the time.

It was only a few years ago when Chip Kelly's was trading away players left and right for that team and now they are 7-1. Difference between them and us is they draft well and we don't. They drafted a real franchise qb, we have a pretend franchise qb

conditional means 4th is the highest if it meets the conditions

I live just east of Philadelphia, the fans are already worried about his knee and if his attitude being a recurring problem. Although most seem overjoyed about the trade.

If you didn't know any better one might think the Dolphins and Eagles were colluding... to turn them into a contender.

Yeah it can go lower. It can all the way down to nothing.

You guys want a laugh? Apparently Cleveland and Cincinnati had a deal worked out to trade AJ McCarron to the Browns at 3:55pm, but the Browns forgot to tell the League Office, so the trade was invalidated.

I read that too. As much of a mockery we are, we will never be as bad as the Browns.

lmao
