Albert Wilson’s Role

I think there is a 100% chance that Albert Wilson is going to be a 'package' player and that Adam Gase has no intention of giving anyone information on what those packages are going to look like before he shows them in the regular season.

Rotoworld is terrible. Real bad agendas. Wilson will play a ton, no worry

Gase just said Wilson is not a slot player but a “wide guy”.

People can defend the signing of two slot receivers to replace Jarvis all day . . . but it still remains a head scratching use of assets for a team that lacks them both in draft resources and cap resources.

We got Gase an over abundance of toys for Xmas . . . .sometimes you gotta buy the kid some clothes and make the kid play with toys he tossed aside from last Xmas.

Well said.

Obviously Gase knows what he envisioned for the kid when he signed him. Additionally, we have a deep and diverse WR group. Each of those guys are fighting for their reps.

It's not a bad thing if Wilson can't even get onto the field because of Parker, Stills, Grant and Amendola, believe it or not.

According to Adam, Wilson isn’t a slot guy.

Wilson is a chess piece Gase will be able to use all over the field.

Wilson was better than Landry by a large margin in plays that people that incorrectly state that Landry's YPC is because he was always thrown short passes and screens. Wilson was the #1 receiver in the league with passes behind the line and within 2 yards of the line. We have been really bad at screen passes, hopefully he can help here and make something happen with high percentage plays.

I have no problem with Wilson.

I have a problem with the amount of assets being used for these “toys”. Meanwhile other positions look much thinner in comparison.

Our #4 WR is making 8 million AAV and the other “toy” (Grant) May get more burn than him.

Still sitting on a 3 draft pick WR and guys like Ford and Scott who sure may not be top 2 guys but damn they could at least be in a #5 or #6 role.

When you got guys like Ballage and Drake mixed in who can also do it in the passing game, it seems a bit frivolous.

Like a offensive coordinators wet dream but maybe not the best for the team as a whole.

Hopefully these toys will allow us to see a top 16 offense at minimum.

Not sure I follow your logic here. The toys tossed aside recently have been Ajayi, Julius Thomas, Landry et al.

A toy he’s trying to get his money out of, like a Stretch Armstrong, is Parker.

Another toy that he spent too much on and doesn’t work as advertised, like an RC car, is Caroo.

Some toys he got on sale that are more fun than a set of Lincoln Logs or Socker Boppers are Drake and Grant.

I think he was a hedge bet signing for Dola. Going to be used in packages until he gets on the field more due to injury.

Exactly there's only so many balls to go around not to mention not just Drake but Gore as well and Giseicki who will be expected to have a larger rule next year. 8 million to be the backup slot guy/4th WR/chess piece....why couldn't Grant have fullfilled that role at a fraction of the cost? I'd love to see how much our WR's are getting paid compared to other units on the team.

So that explains a few things as well

Fortunately Parker is still on the rookie deal but a top 15 pick, 8 million, 8 million and 6 million is pretty intense assets for a top 4 WR group.

Currently 11 WRs, with a cap hit of $28.1 million and ranked #5 highest cap hit for the position in the NFL for WRs.

Also comes in #3 in cap hit for position behind:
Defensive line $35.3 million
Offensive line $32,7 million
