Alex Marvez, Senior NFL Writer for FOXSports.com, brought his "A" game once again on the show this morning, and was brutally honest in talking about the state of the Miami Dolphins. Marvez went as far as to say that even if the Dolphins drafted Stanford star quarterback Andrew Luck, there's a strong chance he wouldn't play for them.

For some reason the video/audio isn't coming up and I'm not shocked by this given the fact our fanbase has gone all out on rooting against it's own team to fail. That's a lot of negativity to have to overcome. Like I said before though, you draft him anyway and if you can't convince him to sign we trade him for mulitple picks and then some.

Edit: You can find the interview here. http://www.wqam.com/index.php?page=347

**** a trade drag his *** in kicking and screaming. Nothing like a rookie who doesn't want to take his licks.

Whatever. So I'm supposed to believe this kid Luck is a front runner who only wants to go play for a winner? I guess that's why he went to perennial football powerhouse Stanford...

These media guys are trying to make you believe that Dolphins fans are the only fans who want their team to lose to get Andrew Luck. Heck, if Denver doesn't go full out spread with Tim Tebow, then they are purposely tanking. I'd be a lot more suspicious of their motives than Miami. Denver is trying to lose. Miami can't help but lose.

yeah i heard that...and i think you should wear a skirt if your gonna let some kid and his pops strong arm you into not taking luck...
i've never heard such nonsense...funniest thing i heard in that piece though was babin sayin he was upset cause he wouldn't get to face colombo with the cowboys this year...our starting right tackle...what a disaster...got guys licking their chops to get to colombo...and yet there he is setting the tackle position back 20 years every game and having to have an additional lineman on his side in garner half the time...

He went to Stanford because he's a brilliant kid who happens to be good at football. Rare breed.

Not too surprising. I can't imagine ANY college player, or free agent for that matter, ever wanting to bust their *** for a fickle, negative fan base like this one.

Marvez was a guy who was glad to get out of Miami. Don't think for a second that he's writing this as an entirely objective, neutral observer. You think we're a mess? We're not nearly as much of a perennial ****house as the Cardinals or Vikes.

You think these New York / New England sportswriters miiiiight be taking a dump on the Miami Dolphins because they are the Miami Dolphins?

Nobody is writing about how the Cardinals are sucking for Luck because nobody cares about them, but if you go to a Cardinals fan board right now (and I have) they're having the same conversations that we are.

Elway is openly coveting the guy. Tebow is starting. They traded away their best WR. They're flat out trying to lose games to pick up Luck. It's not in the national media because nobody outside of Colorado gives a **** about the Broncos.

I totally agree. I find it silly when these people like Marvez say he wouldn't play for a team as bad as Miami. Luck strikes me as the kind of player who feels he can turn a team like Miami around. He's an alpha male and only a beta would be looking for a team to hide on.

Its funny you say that...the guy really is negative towards Miami....what gives? Did i miss something?
Marvez was a beat writer for the Dolphins for the Sun Sentinel...like Omar. I think he's a fan and just frustrated like the rest of us.

After listening to what he says though I don't think he's wrong. He just said why would Andrew Luck come to a team that's run by Jeff Ireland or coached by Tony Sparano....I think we can all agree Sparano is gone but Ireland needs to go with him and hopefully we'll get someone with credibility in there that can make Luck feel more comfortable with being drafted by us IF we have the 1st pick.

I'm really getting sick of all the press and experts who are constantly bashing now both the organization and the fans for the current situation. "the organization is so messed up, nobody decent would ever come work/play for them. And the fans are horrible because they don't like losing and now hope that they get the number #1 pick, etc. etc."
Sorry, but wish they'd shut the hell up! The team isn't playing well right now and the FO is a big part of that problem. Do they really think they will be here next year? Should the fans accept the fact that their team keeps under-achieving each season? Especially this year where they are winless after supposedly getting better between the draft and free agency. When the Lions and Bengals were soooo horrible, people were showing up to the games with bags over their heads. But that was ok? Why all the hate for the Miami sports teams and fans??? I'm not even from Florida and I can sense the disrespect just oozing from the press.
