Alex Marvez: Keep an eye out for James Jones to the Dolphins

I hate Marvez, his commentary and every opinion he has. I don't care if he ever says anything good about the Dolphins, the guy is an ass every day of the week. I actually tried to listen to an interview he did on the radio with WQAM today and every word he spoke just made me hate him even more, even when he wasn't talking about the Dolphins. They brought up Ben Volin's article about how Moore or Garrard could be traded if they lose the quarterback position and asked him what kind of value they could get in a trade. He just laughed and said neither has any value and did the old "maybe a bag a chips(or something similar to that)". Then said well maybe they could get a conditional 7th round pick for Moore, which means Moore would have to perform at a certain level to even get a 7th round pick. Ben Volin did another interview on WQAM and called out Marvez and said he thinks Miami could get a 4th easily for Moore, because teams are always looking for capable backups.

Marvez is very high on himself and talks like he knows everything and comes across very annoying. I have known who he is over the years, but did you guys know that he is a big dude(width, not height) and sports a mullet?

Here is a video he did last year about the Falcons:

frankly i think volins way off if he thinks you get a 4th rounder for matt moore...

I would think GB would release Driver over Jones for age alone. IMO we would temorarily improve our WRs majorly.

Chad Johnson
Davone Bess
James Jones
Legedu Naanee
Brian Hartline

Thats a pretty solid 5.

A 4th might be a little high. I think they could definitely get a 6th round pick, maybe even a 5th rounder. The question though, is a late round pick worth shipping him out or would he have more value on the roster? While the Dolphins have two 3rd round picks next year, they do lack a 6th round pick, so I could see them try to recoup that.

Especially when someone gets injured. Remember we traded a 5th to KC for Tyler Thigpen. I'm pretty sure we could get the same for Matt Moore.

He only caught 38 passes and with 6 drops that is over 13% dropped. He was 78th in the NFL, there were 77 recievers that dropped the ball at a lesser rate. Yeah Arron Rodgers was throwing him the ball too. Look at Welker, with Brady he is one of the best. When he was on our team nobody knew who he was. Is he better than what we have? Yeah maybe but we have alot of guys that may be really good if they get the chance. You know what Jones is, a decent reciever who drops 13% of the passes thrown to him. Brandon Marshall was next with 14.7%. Less receptions with almost the same drop rate. We just got rid of butter fingers, lets not bring in another one.

I am not sure if you mean nationally or not. But Welker was by far the Dolphins best receiver when he went to the Cheatriots. Do not know the circumstances.. sounded like he wanted traded, and if I remember we got a 2nd which resulted in a center who lasted 2 years as a mediocre player. I knew at that moment, that this was going to haunt us and the NFL. He was producing yards without Tom Brady, the kid is a baller. We screwed up by not trying to keep him.

Exactly. Look at Buffalo, they have a questionable starter but have basically no depth at quarterback. Vince Young and Thigpen reportedly have been looking pretty bad in camp, and a team like them would love to have a good backup option. Not saying Miami would trade a QB within the division, but teams like Buffalo need better depth. The only reason Miami would even entertain trading Garrard or Moore is if they decide Tannehill can play if called upon.

Moore and Garrard have value and if the Dolphins can get a 7th round pick for Josh McCown there is no reason they can't get a 5th rounder.

I did mean nationally. My point was just because Jones had alot of touchdowns with Arron Rodgers doent mean he will have that with us. Justb like Welker did not have the numbers with us and as soon as he went to NE he started putting up crazy numbers.

I can't stand Marvez. He comes off as a major douche every time he opens his mouth.

If James Jones is a Dolphin, it'll be by trade and nothing else. Probably a 6 round compensation(which is worth it), and I'd probably give a 5th at the most, only because the chances of us finding a 5th round receiver as good as Jones is very unlikely. I think Jones is more than capable of being an NFL starter, he's just has two thing NOT going for him: his hands are very inconsistent & Jordy Nelson

But we'll see come late August.....

Poison pill? Hello??

Honestly, Green Bay has way too many eyes on the receivers they may cut. That makes me think that it's just simply people want guys that appear to be fringe players on a championship caliber team.

I've heard rumors about Dale Moss, James Jones, and Toni Gurley all being the hot prospects who may be cut from Green Bay or stored on a practice squad.

The only guy that truly interests me is James Jones. He has the makings of a terrific #2 WR, and quite possibly a #1.
