I don't think 1 sportswriter in America has anything positive to say about Henne. To me that's a good thing because they are a bunch of Idiots. I think heene can make a huge jump this year. I have been as frusterated as anyone with henne at time's, however, Dan henning was a complete joke of a OC. Not many 1st yr starting qb's would have played well under that baafoon. Henne has some potential to win games in my opinion. 10 reason's he will be a top 15 QB this yr.

1. New OC. - aggressive playcalling-- Not being told if you throw a pick you'll be benched for pennington
2. Better OL play w/ pouncey... I know they struggled in preseason, but when jake gets back this line will be better.
3. More experience- last year was really his first yr going in as a starter, a lot of great QB's struggled their 1st year.
4. Healthly Marshall ... He is in beast mode this year.... he looks like he's on a mission this yr.
5. He's scrambling for 1st down's more--- I know he's no mike vick, but I like what I see from him in preseason being able to run it for key first down's and keep drives going.
6. No more Wildcat BS... destroying his mommemtum when he is putting togher good drives.
7. He will get big stat's passing with reggie bush on the team. Just dump it off to bush and let him get theYAC.
8. Don't have to worry about being benched every wk, like last yr with pennington. This is his team.
9. Clyed gates get opening up the field with his ability to take top off d-fense- didn't have have that last yr.
10. He has had a lot of time working on timimg pattern's all offseason with bess, hartline....

good post. you forgot to mention his leadership though

he's got a lot to prove to a lot of people and I hope he'll make them eat their words.

Ozzy rules!!

needs a catcher title. 10 reasons why henne will be a top 10 QB. really put yourself out there. top 15? middle of the pack is top 15.

henne is one of the toughest QBS in the league physcially, and with the **** he put up with here mentally tough, he is going to be fine

Yeah, and also, his coach didn't need 4 first rounders to assemble a good offensive line.

He drafted 2 of them, but what does 4 first rounders mean? 1 (vernon) is on the downside of his career and obviously columbo is as well. inherited 1, picked up another in FA for not much money. I just dont understand what your point is?

Yep - I laughed at the title, too.

... behave yourselves in here, boys.

I just watched the Tampa first half for the fifth time.

Henne could be a top 5 QB real soon. This is way out there for some people but I am noticing some fundamental things that lead me to believe Henne will have a great year.

1) He is getting rid of the ball because he knows where all his recievers are. He knows where to hit the quick hit. In the tampa and the carolina game i noticed the defense starting to get gassed. Tampa game, Pouncey laid a hit on Brian Price and put him out of commision for a few plays. Then when Henne is driving down the field, #71 is suddenly bent over and injured but really just gassed. THIS OFFENSE IS BUILT TO WEAR TEAMS DOWN FOR FOUR QTRS!

2) We have Bess, Bush, Gates who get us good yards on 1st down. We are throwing on 1st down but this is why Henne is looking like Brady. 2nd down you can really mess with defenses on 2nd and short. WE WILL GET ALOT OF FIRST DOWNS AND 3RD DOWN COVERSION RATE WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER.
Which takes it back to #1.

3) Henne clearly knows this offense well. Even when he still makes some mistakes missing open guys, it is still positive play generally. Last year, we had way too many negative plays. We are also overcoming penalties and still converting for first downs.

4) The receivers are clearly on same page generally speaking. This is where Henne's leadership has come into play. His teaching his receivers the playbook and such has really brought this group together through communication. It shows even when mistakes or penalties occur, they just regroup and are confident they will overcome.
