Another failed draft by ireland hurting this team. Zero contribution

Philbin is too stubborn when it comes to personnel....he likes to stick with guys like Vernon and Shelby but a freak with ridiculous potential like Jordan gets limited snaps. Asinine.

This.... It seems to me that this is one of the major problems. The coaching staff seems too stubborn about playing certain guys and their game plan. They made zero adjustments in the second half of this game and lost it for us. The pats blitzed us on almost every pass play that second half and we only ran one play to beat the blitz which was the Wallace screen. The coaching staff has really let this team down.

How the fucx is this knucklehead still employed. ..........is beyond the credibility and respect of the mind of player of this team and the fans just way the fucx beyond. Can somebody please give me a coherent answer. .....Why???????

Is kinda ridiculous to blame rookie production on Ireland. How do you not start a player like Jordan? I think we should all be questioning our coaching staff and not GM.

I can't give a pass in this regard when we've seen players like Marshall, Vontae, and Bess jettisoned for future drafts when the picks that were used have netted junk.

I thought Ireland was "boss"? :idk: ....oh wait that's when the team was winning and you could hide behind a 3-0 record?

This. Vontae is playing great for the Colts.

The coaching staff sucks when it comes to developing players but that again falls on the GM who hired that coaching staff. I really hope Ireland and the coaching staff are gone after this season but I doubt it will happen. This will end up being like the Wanny/Splieman years

Sorry to say, but this years draft was 90% "for the future".

The only two players I expected to contribute on a grand scale this year where Dion Jordan and Sturgis, and both are.

Jamar Taylor, Will Davis? IMO when drafted neither would be a "true" starter until next year, Grimes, Patterson, (Marshall), Carrol would all eat up the snaps.

Thomas? Pure depth at the time and future replacement to Incog in two years.

Jenkins? Pure depth LB with some upside to develop into a releavant LB.

Dion Sims? Pure depth TE with some upside to delvelop into a releavant TE. (At the time he would sit behind Keller, Clay, and Egnew....maybe beat out Egnew for 3rd TE)

Gillislee and Don Jones picks was just taking BPA on the board at the time. Jones has proven a solid ST contributer while Gillislee has shown nothing more than taking up a roster spot.

Not sure how someone looked at this draft and saw multiple day 1 starters from it.

I read somewhere that Jordan was pretty much being blown up on the running plays that helped NE seal the game. We are handling him correctly at this point, he wasn't drafted for 2013 whether you think so or not. I personally wish we drafted guys who would have had a more immediate impact but that is not always what the draft is about. Hard to say we had a bad draft now, but as far as having a draft that would have a big impact in 2013 well yeah it pretty much sucks. If we wanted immediate impact we should have traded one of those Taylor/Davis picks for Bradon Albert. Instead we have 2 CB's who can't get 7th round pick Jimmie Wilson and 5the round pick Nolan Carroll off the field. Of course it's all good if they are our starting duo in a couple years but for now it's dissapointing.

Cam Wake's injury is killing this teams pass rush. I fell like our rush in interior guys, blitzes or bust. OV and Shelby are average pass rushers and when you insert Jordan, as the Pats showed us, we can be exposed in the run game. The team needs Wake and OV as starters and Jordan as a pass rush specialist. I'm really hoping Wake not doing dumb toughness practicing and playing when he should be resting. It's obvious we need him at 100% and if rest was the answer, he should have rested. Remember the guy missed no practice (was limited) and wanted to play vs NO. Admirable but if it's prolonging the injury it's dumb.

Cam Wake's injury is killing this teams pass rush. They probably put Jorda

Talk to me in 3 years. I think we very well may like this draft a whole lot better from that vantage point. However, so far it gets poor grade for immediate impact.

We'd have to lose out to get a new coaching staff. The best we'll probably get is Sherman and/or Ireland.
I don't think Ross will repeat the mistake he made 2 years ago when he choose not to clean house completely. If Ross actually finds the stones to fire Ireland, Philbin, assistant coaches and the scouting and personnel offices are collateral damage. With the issues surrounding the coaching and front office, no one will come in unless they can put together what they invision as being a solid foundation from top to bottom.

Sturgis is not having a good year

What? I don't usually spend much time defending kickers, but Sturgis is the only bright spot outside of Jordan (from the little we've actually seen of him, which makes no sense to me). He was 10-for-10 before missing a 57 yarder. His next miss was a 51 yarder, again, not a gimmie. Then he missed a 46 yarder in heavy wind that hit the upright. The last was blocked, so blame the line for an utter collapse.

This.

If Ireland/Philbin are gone everyone else is gone. Top to bottom.

Watching the Packers game last night, my jaw dropped when I heard that only three (3) players on the Packers roster had ever played for a team other than the Packers.

That is beyond amazing player scouting and development. No wasted money on top tier FA's either.
