Any chance Philbin & Ireland survive this?

You don't even know if Martin was behaving oddly. This could have been a private incident. More speculation, on top of more speculation.
I would think there were some warning signs of trouble. A guy doesn't just out of the blue slam down a tray and walk out. Add to it Richie Sr's rant about Martin having mental issues it adds up?

If he didn't know that concerns me about just how in tune he is with these players and this team.

Do you think Jim Turner was aware of it?

As for the meeting with Philbin in OTAs, that's the one thing that really disturbs me. But I don't know what was said at that meeting. The team genuinely seems surprised to learn of these voicemails and texts, so I am thinking maybe he never mentioned that to Joe.

But as for 'not picking up on his behavior,' come on. The two of them were hanging out together and all smiles from what I have heard. Blame Joe for things it is fair to blame him for. IMO there are more than enough of those things to go around. Failure to read minds is not one of them.
He shouldn't have to read minds.

Look, if anyone knew about these racist texts and non stop actions towards Martin then they deserve to be fired. Philbin included.

We don't know any of that yet.. anything else is pure speculation. And I'm going to defend Philbin until I read otherwise.

No worries that's your beliefs. I just happen to view it differently.

Personally I think in order to save face at this point Incognito needs to be released and Philbin should be fired. We need to know more about Ireland's involvement if any, but his sham of getting good character players isn't being bought by anyone anymore. These guys already lack a football sense and apparently they lack common sense as well. Perfect time to let them go, revamp the franchise, and look good while doing it all.

I am most dissapointed with Philpin I thought he was right coach and was good guy. I can't understand how a Coach who is so worried about details in locker room, like paper on the floor. Does not notice that abuse is going on in his locker room. Any good coaches know what is going on with their players.
In regards to Ireland, how can he not know that Incognito is trouble, when most other GM would not even draft him. In regards to Martin, how can he not know that he has emotional problems. Martin was playing LT, one of the most demanding positions in football. You need to have nerve of steel to play that position.
This season is going down in flames and so is the team. That sucks!!

Totally agree with your first paragraph GADOLPHIN! how you are aware of tiny pieces if trash but not knowing hazing, racism, bullying and criminal behavior is happening not just on your team but on the left side of the worst unit on the team? Mind boggling.

I hope not. The performance of the team should be enough to seal their fate.

Probably not. Ross will probably need a franchise image cleansing which makes it hard to keep either. Unless this team makes the playoffs which would just cloud the picture even more.
If he does that, I'm done with the Dolphins after 40 years. Changing AGAIN will only show me he doesn't have a clue what a healthy organization needs. By far, the most important thing is continuity. We haven't had that for more than a decade. I'm tired of waiting for a return to sound management of our team. Once again, I think the key to sound management begins with continuity. ****** the Dolphins. Politics and football should not share the same world, IMO. As for those who think we could bring the likes of Cower or Gruden in, I'd like to sell you some tickets to a white rabbit hole in my back yard.

lol this board always seems like it's made up more of fins haters than supporters! There is ZERO chance philbin gets fired over this! ZERO. He's not their babysitter! If Martin didnt come to him to complain about any of this, how can you assume he should have known?!

I guess you guys just want to go 7-9, fire all staff....go 7-9, fire all staff, rinse and repeat.

If the dolphins win 10 games or maybe even 9 games... no regardless of how things play out with this

Winning cures all, so if the Dolphins win...especially after this..it kinda shows that the players are behind each other and the coaches...regardless of how weak the schedule is going forward

Right now I would put the odds of them surviving at about 20%...

A lot of it depends on how the team performs during the rest of the season though. If they go 8-8, they are goners. I think Ireland is out regardless at this point. He has brought nothing but embarrassment to this team since Ross bought the Dolphins.

spot on...no coaches are going to get fired mid-season, so with this latest drama Dolphins episode occurring now, i think these coaches still actually have a good chance of surviving with the main emphasis on how the team ends the season. If this drama occurred towards the end of a losing Dolphins season - then yes all coaches would have definitely gone. But then again if we somehow make it to the playoffs and do something (unlikely) the Martin & Richie saga will be swept under the rug.

To me we need some hard nut coaches, who are both intelligent and possess creative playcalling and more importantly respected by NFL players. Difficult to find I know, but some have mentioned the Gruden brothers - who knows if Ross can pull this out of the hat.
