Any Hope In Tyler Huntley?

McD is done
McD is cooked
He’s in way over his head
He’s done nothing right since he’s gotten here
Except building up Tua’s confidence
But to be honest, we’re wasting time with Tua, he’s not dominant when need be, he can’t improvise, and he can’t extend plays.
Bye
I can't find a good argument to counter any of that.

I didn't know much about him, but was impressed by his film in Baltimore. Loves the TE's and has a quick compact release with a good arm. For a good athlete, he is a very decisive passer. I saw a lot of three steps, ball out quick and accurate. He is also a decisive runner. Hate to say it, kind of what we need right now with our OL issues. I could see us running some pistol formation with him.

How much hope do you have in Tyler Huntley if he is the starter (no league deals acquired by then by the FO) against the Titans?

I have little hope that Tyler Huntley will manage our offense effectively by the time Tua returns. You?

Charlie, I think if McD designs some run plays for Huntley and we use them, that can be a spark for this offense. Huntley can pass as well as Boyle and better than Thompson (IMO) and adds the added threat of a running QB.

I still think we need to rely heavily on the run game, but Waddle and Hill need to be involved down the field. Would really hope to see McD follow up his worst coaching effort (Seattle game) with one of his best this coming week by having this team and whoever is behind center ready to go!

... In reality, I am cautiously optimistic.

Emotionally speaking, I am hopeful that he plays a good game...I want to win darn it...BUT, realistically, I'm thinking that there is no chance he will do the deed well enough for us to outscore the Titans.

Again, I am cautiously optimistic.

This team needs better overall play from all of it's players, not just the QB position. For me it's hard to tell who can do what because this team hasn’t looked ready to play. There is talent on the team but so far it's been disappointing to say the least. We were very fortunate to beat Jax(barely) before getting destroyed by Buffalo and I don’t even want to talk about the Seattle game. We'll see if they can get it together but we need a total team effort and yes, better coaching too.

My confidence in Huntley is through the roof. This guy is going to look like a hall of famer after the start to the season we have had. I’m expecting 30+ points if he plays.

Darnold always had the potential. He just needed to find the right team. He played for the Jets and Panthers with a quick stop in SF where he wasn't depended on. Up in Minny you see what's happening. That man can play QB and has an arm.
yeah but when will the bubble burst? We've seen qbs do this before and darnold have moments of looking good for a few weeks, then bomb the following week. We'll see how long this performance through the long season keeps up for darnold

The problem is, you have to change the whole offense for Huntley. The offense we run is tailored only for Tua to maximize his abilities (not much). Now when our back up comes in, we're going to need our oline to actually be good (holds breath).

With our dog **** oline, Huntley can at least move the offense with his legs.

I don't expect lots of wins, but I do expect much more entertaining football to watch. We will at least score a TD or 2 per week.

Seems pretty stable thus far. That's a well coached team from top to bottom. He's always had the arm talent.

That's 100% on the coaching staff for not preparing the team to go without Tua at some point. Either have a backup that can handle the same offense or have a different offensive philosopy all together if/when the backup is called on. I get having this as a problem if your QB is an ironman and never misses games, but with Tua you gotta have a viable plan B.

Well yeah but arm talent isn't everything, it's the mental part. Reading defenses, and the anticipation and pressure, pre snap post snap. That was always his issue was the mental part. He always had the physical talent. But we've seen many qbs with arm talent who were busts and never became more. Will darnold rebound later in his career like geno? We'll see, it's still early in the season but I'll feel differently if this keeps up going in thanksgiving and after

If it doesn't work out for Sam in Minny, it ain't gonna work anywhere.
