Any Hope In Tyler Huntley?

Seeing him play for the Ravens made me realize how a franchise that knows what they’re doing manages to bring in a second string QB that can run the same offense that the starting QB runs. What were Grier and McD thinking when they brought in Thompson and White? Did they not realize that these two couldn’t run the type of offense that McD had installed for Tua? Sure…I realize that the QB needed to run this type of offense is rare, but there were other QBs out there who would have done a much better job than these two. Specially when you have a team that has been built to win now. And the fact that Tua has had a long history of injuries. Unreal, and sad, how the people responsible to lead out team couldn’t figure this out.

Maybe we should just let things play out, hope Huntley turns out to be a pleasant surprise, but if not, move hell and high water to draft Cam Ward next April.

While he looks great so far, I'm gonna need to see Cam against a legit good team first. He's a little too casual and has some really sloppy mechanics. Not sold just yet.

As far as the thread topic... sure, I have some hope in Huntley. Not a ton, but he's gotta be better than Skylar and Boyle lol.

It doesn’t matter who starts Coach is going to go 80/20 run game on Monday night. I expect the defense of the titans to load up the box and stop the run. Coach never features the run and this week he will use it exclusively and with our injuries in the line we’re going to get stuffed. I expect a very low scoring game something like 13-10 kinda game from these two teams.
You don't know McDaniel.

Zero. He was on a practice squad for a reason and anyone who says different needs to come back to reality
Very wrong to assume the QBs with the most ability to be productive are going to be the ones rostered. Teams have all kinds of reasons.

For example, we rostered Skylar Thompson for three years even though few QBs could ever perform worse.

It's all false hope if anyone has any. Don't fool yourselves

McDaniel gotta be real w himself. Don't get big head. Coaches qb u have to win game. If that mean making playbook easier do it.

He’s definitely going to take his lumps while getting acclimated to the offense. Whether those lumps are physical or mental is to be determined

To me it comes down to McDaniel. Are you gonna run and play ball control offense? Or are you gonna run the same offense you ran for Tua. Which he did last week. Which was a total disaster. Hopefully last week was rock bottom for McDaniel and he realized his mistakes. But I seriously doubt it.

The fact that McD hasnt named a QB starter is concerning. Huntley is the clear choice for this team and its Swiss cheese OL. Someone needs to make a play without getting crushed by the Defense and injured.

McD should be running Huntley with the first team and creating a simplified Offensive game plan for him. Pump up the running game, use Wright more and run him behind 6'7" Paul and create some opportunity for Play Action.

There is nobody that can put together a highlight reel for Skylar or Boyle that tops one for Huntley. Cant expect him to save the season, but at least make the games watchable. Right now, this is not good football to watch.

McD job on the line now. If he cant adjust, what are we doing here then? Minny, GB, keep winning with backups and less talent on offense than Miami. No excuses now, get it done McD.

There's no advantage to naming a starter except guaranteeing the opponent knows who to prepare for.

Normally that matters a bit, but do we think that teams really care who is starting for Miami at this point? Teams have to think its Huntley and wont have to prep for Boyle.

It frustrates fans and the media, but there's really no advantage to telling people anything.

The thing that frustrates me about McDaniel instead of keeping non-answers short to "No comment" or "I'm not going to get into that," he rambles for 10 minutes making the press conference unlistenable.
