Any Miami fan a bit worried about the Jets ???

Milliner didnt finish strong. CB should be your teams #1 priority. Your defense doesn't work without good man corners.

didn't finish strong? slowed down hottest WR in NFL in Josh Gordon then shut down Wallace. he played really well the 2nd half of the year and ended on a really high note being asked to cover the opponents best WRs.

still a lot of work to be done but this will be a much more talented team than a year ago.

and what exactly will "being worried" accomplish for me or my team?

this will be a fun thread though.

using that line of thinking though what will being optimistic mean? we all care about this stuff way more than we should, no one is saying stay up nights thinking about the Jets or anything phins related but if you ant your team to make the playoffs the Jets are a concern.

Josh Gordon had 6 catches for 97 yards with a ****ty QB throwing to him

And Milliner kept jumping the route that game vs Wallace, and then it cost him a 5 yard TD. The guy guesses way to much, and taking gambles like that is was got him beat all season.

With the NFL infatuation with New York and Rex Ryan and all. This is a team that beat us at least once every year and they knocked us out of the playoffs last year, now they have Mike Vick and tons of comp picks, thanks NFL, in a very deep draft.

The biggest worry I have is that their defense is really good and could get better plus they have a good coach and the players love to play for him. That is a far cry from what or who we have. The AFC is about to be very ugly again.

Rex Ryan has a losing record against Miami.

Disagree with the sentiment in this thread that we shouldn't be worried about Vick. He is light years ahead of Geno Smith, and he can extend plays, which was a huge weakness for us last year. Vick instantly makes the Jets a better team.

Now on the other side of the ball, they have no viable man to man CB (Milliner blows), which is essential for Rex Ryan's defense....

LOL that's not saying much, Vick is old and done.

The only thing that worries me about Vick is the inevitable QB-sneak run we'll give up at the worst possible time, we're famous for allowing those. I seriously hope the LB play this season steps it up down the middle.

Did anyone on that team intimate you last yr? But with the season on line they came into our building with nothing to play for and held our offense to 7 points in a win or go home game....Don't underestimate superior coaching...the Jets have it....

Their superior coaching has led them to a losing record against some pretty bad Dolphins teams over the last 5 seasons. There is still a ton of time for moves to be made, but I am not worried at all about what the Jets have done so far.

The Bills shut us out the week before, and actually swept us. The Bucs beat us earlier in the season as well. I'm not scared of those teams either. We lost to some bad / average teams. We also had a winning record against teams that made the playoffs. We were a very inconsistent team last year. I'm more concerned about which Dolphins will show up in 2014 than I am about the Bills or Jets.

Didn't Milliner get lucky on a no-call defensive PI against Wallace?

I hope Wallace burns him this season, and puts up a fight while he's at it.

I'm also much more worried about what we do when it comes to the Jets. I'd be much more concerned about the Pats because we can't seem to stop them from dominating us. Vick starting does make the Jets better but only because Smith isn't quite ready to be a starter. In the long term I think this really kills the progress of a young guy who needs all the confidence he can get in Smith. The Bills may be a cause of concern in coming years because I believe Emanuel is a lot better than Smith and they beat us twice last year with a jag at QB

Being optimistic actually helps lead a person to positive action, THAT's the line of thinking I am using, in which case being worried would.....I'm sure you can finish that thought.

To tread water in the thread though, neither Geno Smith nor Michael Vick give me cause to be worried.

Not even going to read this thread that is likely counting out the 2ND PLACE TEAM from a year ago because of their QB situation. Any Dolphins fan who doesn't fear the Jets or the Bills is kidding themselves. Coming into last season I clearly though that we would by far be the 2nd best team in the division and I wasn't even right then. Coming into 2014 I can honestly say I don't even know out of us the Jets or Bills which team will be 2nd best in the AFC East. Had the season ended after the NE game, I'd think Miami but those last 2 games were ugly and we got DOMINATED by both the Bills and Jets. If we truly have the best QB of the 3, which I'm sure is the main arguement from Dolphins fans in the thread, then it should be us but based on last year that remains to be seen. I'm still not going to read the thread but I'm positive there is a number of Dolphins fans kidding themselves on this topic like there are every single year I've been here since 2002.

Been here since 2002 and 1 thing I've learned is taking a finheaveners advice with betting on the New York Jets would surely leave you broke.

Even though Rex is a clown, he is a good coach. The Jets will likely finish ahead of the Dolphins as long as Vick stays healthy, but I don't know if I would say I'm scared of them... If we were any good, we would beat them.

Not worried about the Jets in the least. They moved from Buttfumble 1.0, to Buttfumble 2.0 + FumbleFumble 3.0. That's still a lot of wasted cap space on a bad QB ... or two. They have Decker, but they will not likely be able to use him because their QB's stink. Michael Vick was never a good reader of defenses or accurate thrower of the ball. All he really had was elusive RB qualities and a big arm. These days he fumbles the ball constantly. Our defense is full of speed and containing his running should be fairly easy to do. Then he fumbles or throws a pick. Just contain on the front end and play close coverage on the back end, forcing him to see when a receiver breaks free and forcing him to make tight window throws ... which he cannot do consistenty. He's a turnover machine AND comes with a high price tag ... I'm ecstatic the Jets got him!

Rex Ryan's defenses are no joke though. He is a very good Defensive Coordinator, and the more "hands on" he is with the defense the better it is ... and worse for us. That team will win the way it always has, great defense, subpar offense. If they can generate a dominant run game and find a conservative game manager QB, they could do well ... but they have neither on their roster at the moment.
