Any statments of the officiating Sunday?

Junc, here's the thing. I have no problem admitting that I can see your side of the argument. I agree that to someone it could look like he was batting the ball. I see it. But what I also see is the possibility he was trying to recover the ball with a lunging attempt. If it can be argued evenly both ways, you don't throw the flag.

It looked clear to me as I assume it did to the ref. I remember the announcers saying it before the call was made so it looked clear to them too.
Actually, both announcers backtracked after they'd watched it several times. They were unsure, a bit doubtful. If the refs had called it correctly, it should have been a no-call, as they could not be sure either.

I believe it was Boomer Esiason, although I could be wrong, but one announcer said it was a good call, the other said it was a bad call. Even they were split.
It was Phil Sims, who at first glance said good call, but once it was shown in slow motion, he was doubtful.

Why would the refs try to help NE? What do they get out of it?

Fandom:
It's human nature to help a team you like better then the other.

Hatred
There may have been a Ref that was a Jets fan, or other team that is linked with the Dolphins as far a rivalry.

Financial:
Maybe someone in the NFL gave the word that it is more beneficial to the NFL to not allow the Pats to lose two in a row, or eventually lose the AFC East.

Appeasement:
Last week the Patriots lost to the Jets on a horrible call, this might have been a way to make up for that call, could not allow the Patriots to lose 2 in a row.

Do I know why it happened? no, but because I have eyes, I know it happened.

One, two, or even three obvious one sided bad calls to one team? Maybe a coincidence.

An entire half of one-sided calls at the perfect time that helps one team exclusively, while making the other team actually doubt if they will ever be able to get anything done without the Refs jumping in? Way more then suspicious.

If the Jets had those calls go against them my pal Junc would be screaming bloody murder :idk:

They certainly affected the outcome of the game in my humble opinion.

ohhh so it was the refs fault down only 3 w/ great FP that Ryan made an awful decision and throw. Got it.

Glad to help, very obvious, you have no idea what happened in that game.

I am sure I would have been annoyed, we get screwed all the time(every fanbase thinks they do) but they made the correct call and miami had a chance to win regardless.

No, your team like all of has gotten screwed but a call or two to hurt your teams chances, when an entire half of horrible calls happen in that game, you are not going to be annoyed, your going to be very upset....it's very obvious what happened, unless your a Jets fan with an agenda that is.

watching that both in reg speed and slow motion it looks like it was intentional, maybe it wasn't?

I don't like the rule, I think maybe the ball should go back to the yd line where the batting took place not an automatic 1st down.

if it happened against us it would be wrong:D

I am sure I would have complained at first but after seeing it I would change my mind. Sometimes we get breaks, sometimes they go against us just like any team. I THINK we get more bad calls, you guys do too and I'll bet every fan thinks that.

I wanted you guys to win so my agenda would be to support the whining but the reality is NE earned the win and Miami as terrible in the 2nd half.

i haven't watch it again so I can still bitch :)

Oh ok, so you wanted us to win, the team for the most part all the way back in the history of all these teams, being your biggest rival team.

You wanted Patriots to lose, a team that you already have split with, and wanted the Dolphins, a team that could just as easily sweep your team this year, as get swept or spit with you, but you wanted Miami to win...OK, sure you did.

You did not want Miami to win, when Miami was up 17-3, you felt sick, and once the Pats started coming back (No matter how it happened), you thought "Now that's more like it, if any team is going to crush the Pats, and end up taking the East, it's the J-E-T-S" ......That's what happened wasn't it? You can admit it, we all know.

in case you didn't notice we were a game back of 1st going into last week and NE has dominated the division like no other team ever has. I wouldn't say I was "rooting" for you to win but I was rooting for NE to lose if that makes sense and while historically NYJ-Mia is the division's best rivalry NYJ-NE has surpassed it in the last decade.

I'm not sure, probably NE b/c I think they will still wind up winning the division and a loss for you guys will keep us ahead of you in the WC race no matter what we do but I will try not to watch it so I don't have to root:D

Maybe he had a change of heart on game day?

this post is SPOT on
SHUT IT DOWN!!!!WE GOING HOME!!!!!

did the "I'm not sure" part throw you off?

no, it was the other part that made too much sense.

You know the Jets have no shot at the division. Rooting for a Dolphins loss to stay ahead in the WC race makes sense. You can be delusional sometimes, but you can't tell me that you honestly thought the Jets had a shot at the division?

watch the slow mo replay. he sees #61 going to try to pick it up and he bats it away, EASY call.

I am not sure what you guys are watching. watch around the 3 minute mark of the video.

go to the clip on just that play, they have the announcer reaction and Simms says it was "blatant" b/c it was. seeing those angles, there is no way you can call that any other way.

NE has been struggling though, maybe 10 wins can win the division? we have a 2-1 div record. I don't think we will but you never know and NE has dominated all of us for a long time, I enjoy when you guys lose but when NE loses it is special b/c it doesn't happen as often as Miami.
