Any statments of the officiating Sunday?

Wrong. We lost 27-17. The PI cost us a Td so did the holding on Patterson it was another 7 points. Add the Fumble and swatting by Vernon 3 points. We would of won without scoring anything. 17-10 would've been the score.

You are wrong. The penalties hurt, but they didn't put the ball in the endzone or stop our offense from doing anything. We had a chance, and we blew it.

if this is the only distinction you're using to "prove" that he batted the ball away "intentionally", then you have a very poor case. With that logic, I'm glad you're not a ref (not that the current officiating could get any worse, but you get my point)

the video proves the case, it's quite clear.

so any player who unsuccessfully recovers a fumble and knocks the ball an inch or more backwards (with an opposing player within 2 yards of said recovery attempt) should get that penalty called on them every time? Last time I checked, that's not how the rule is written in the rule book.

it did not look like he was trying to recover it, he knew he couldn't get it and punched it forward so NE couldn't get it.

If our team's biggest issue is the officiating we're in BIG trouble.

Team play SHOULD make remove the effect of winning or losing from penalties.

Make PLAYS!

99% of the time, I'd agree with you. But it would just be downright dumb to believe we didn't get royally ****ed (without lube, nonetheless) by the refs last game.

The biggest call was the illegal batting call. I believe it was an incorrect call, but it is a judgment call and the referee thought it was blatant. I can't say we got screwed. I wish it would have went our way, but it's not as bad as some are making it out to be.

Biggest call? Imo, all of the terrible calls had enough of an impact whereby they don't need to be ranked. I actually think the phantom PI call against Gronk was equally detrimental compared to the batting penalty.

The bottom line is that the refs are going to make mistakes. it's going to happen. It sucks, but that's life. Good teams overcome it. I remember we had at least one call go our way that I thought was a bad call. I don't remember the play now, but I do remember thinking the refs blew it, but it helped us out so I didn't really care. The refs are human and they will make mistakes. Blaming them for losses does nobody any good.
