While watching the game vs. the JAGs, he seemed to have good technique and made a great play in the endzone to break up a pass and NOT get called for PI.

so far I am happily surprised. Unless he screws up bad, he should be gearing up for opening day

When we picked him up, I always thought he would be a starter in this team, and from the looks of it, he seems like he's motivated to restart his career here in Miami after a few terrible years in Detroit (not him being terrible, he was actually pretty solid; but the organization itself, plus going through 3 head coaches and all).

To tell you the truth i was more impressed with Allen more than Goodman. Allen broke up the play that the int was made on. He also came up and decked Maurice Drew in the mouth which is something that has not been seen by our corners in a while. He had that one play where he got burnt by Matt Jones but that was partly due to Safety help that was supposed to come from Jason Allen. Goodman broke up the pass in the back of the endzone but i think Allen made more plays.

Any thing we get out of Andre is a huge bonus. He was suppose to be our 4th corner back. But as the pre-season is progressing, the more we need him. I sure hope he can play at a starter level, we need all we can get out of him Allen and Daniels this year.

Yes, very much so. I look forward to more good play for the rest of the preseason and during the regular season. It appeared he had good technique, instincts, and just basically could handle his job well.

I think when all of the corners we have our healthy they can be a top 5 secondary in the NFL. They are all young, physical corners that can cover in a system which gives them the advantage.

That is quite a stretch. We would be very fortunate if our pass defense were to rank in the top 10. The thing that might help is benefitting from a good pass rush that we should generate. The negative thing to that is that teams will be throwing on us a lot because we do have a very good front 7.

Nothing is a stretch these days with the era of parity. If they can get in sync anything is possible.

Are you suggesting it wouldn't be a stretch to say that the Bills and Jets will meet in the AFC title game? I think it is say to say, that is a stretch.

You don't think the Dolphin's secondary can be top 10? Hell yeah they can. Dom Capers and Nick Saban playing the defenses schemes they are going to put the pressure on the opposing offenses. That's going to make the secondary so much better and the corners will be aggressive and manhandle the WRs. That's going give them no time catch the ball and force turnovers. Not to mention Saban is a master of the secondary.

I was impressed with Allen as well, after just 6 practices, he was always seems to be around the ball. It's encouraging to think how well he'll be doing once he really gets the system 'down'. One would think we should really start to see him making big plays.:cooldude:
