Last week I saw Ronnie miss a hole on the right side that would have let him into a HUGE area of no Jags for a HUGE gain, he chose to cut back up inside for a minimal gain. Watching the game this morning, during the drive that ended in a TD, Ronnie took the ball on a draw-the LB to his right went to cover the rec. leaving a good space to his right to try and exploit-but Ronnie ran straight ahead at the middle LB and was tackled. Don't get me wrong, I love Ronnie, but sometimes I wonder what he's thinking. Anyone else see that too?

No doubt he has missed some holes. I know the one you are talking about from last night. It was on 3rd and two I believe and he ran it up the middle and got the first down and there was a huge hole on the right side. He needs to get his confidence in making quick cut backs and trust his instincts. He has left some yards on the field, but he will improve.

it's alot easier on madden and while sitting in your couch...

he touched the ball less than 20 in this preseason and already someone is bashing him:shakeno:

All runningbacks do, it's like asking a QB to see every wide open Wr. everyone misses a few.

I think sammy morris is looking good. i look for sammy to get some goal loine carries and third down back duties. sammy morris is very under rated. He will get some playing time. however, ronnie brown will be fine. he has not been a primary back in his football career yet at college of nfl. He has a great attitude and seems to be a really good person. Ronnie Brown will be fine.

I still think that Ricky Williams is better. If we had Ricky this year then we would make a run for the title!! I don't know if Ronny can carry the load.

I dont think its bashing. I think he did that some last year as well

Personally I think 3rd and short you take the ball up the middle like your supposed to and trust your O-Line ti get that hole for you. As fast as Tampa D is you dont wanna be cutting outside too much because they will track you down quick.

I don't play Madden and I would hardly call that bashing.:shakeno:

I'm not saying you are wrong because one of the knocks on Ronnie is supposedly his lack of vision, but I saw both of those plays and with my Tivo I re ran them each about 10 times. On the play in the Jax game there were 2 linebackers in the whole before Barnes got there. Ronnie cut back then Barnes hit the outside linebacker into the middle backer opening up a huge hole. I believe that is more a lack of patience (which should come as he gets more carries in real games) than a lack of vision.

In the T.B. game he saw a LB unblocked that he would have to outrun to get a huge gain but he was right at the first down line and I think he just stuck it in there to make sure he got the first down rather than cut back and take the chance of getting stopped short.

Of course I could be wrong but this is what I saw and what I believe was going on.

IMO thats the difference between Caddy and RB.

Caddy has the field vision of the great ones while Ronnie is more physically talented. He runs straight ahead and tries to out physical opponents.

Also I am concerned about the way he handles the ball too loosely.

Watching Ronnie I think he is physically a FREAK! However, mentally he is still developing.

Ronnie doesnt need no holes. He runs through people.

In all seriousiness, even though that is true, i know the play your talking about also. I think he was just so set on the first down that he was just to focused on anything else. That could be good that could be bad. The important thing on that play was the first down and he got it.

It would have been interesting to see that play if it wasnt 3rd down or the yards werent so short for the first.

Yeah , I noticed the same thing. That was one of ricky's strenghs great vision and patience . Gotta take advantage of the open lanes.Hopefully he'll get this corrected the by the start of the season .
