Anyone else worry about our defense?

I'd like to see less threads focused on our D and more talking about our offense... we have something like the 23rd scoring offense in the NFL... and we are in the bottom half of almost every single offensive stat in the league. The defense is on the exact opposite end of the spectrum.

Up to this point, our defense has been truly disappointing only twice - against the Saints and against the Steelers. Almost every other game, our defense has contributed more than our offense has. We need a better balance from our offensive unit as a whole.
 
Not yet. I find it hard to criticize bend but don't break defense. Missed tackles and off coverage are annoying, but what matters is points allowed and turnovers. We are good in those two categories.
The offense needs to find the consistency drive by drive.
We'll see what they are made of in the playoffs.
 
last week w/ the game on the line they forced a 4 and out to win it(I am not counting the crazy last play), this week they faced the best QB of this generation and held NE to 20 pts. Your D has been a huge reason why you are where you are, the biggest reason really.
 
D lost us leads against Carolina, the bills, and ravens at the end of the games. Tampa too I think. Those are only the losses.

We lost leads against Pitt, ne and we won.

Atlanta, Indy I don't remember if They gave up a 4th qtr lead.

It would be nice to get more consistent qb pressure when a team is trying to come back

Carolina: your O didn't score a point in the 2nd half
Buf: the D blew the lead b/c the O turned it over in FG range w/ a 1 pt lead late
Bal: the only reason the game was close late was b/c the D scored a TD in the 4th qtr to tie it.
TB: they scored early in the 4th qtr to take a 3 pt lead, the O had over 10 minutes to tie or take the lead.
Pitt: lost a lead b/c of an INT for a TD and they shut Pitt down late
Indy: held Indy scoreless in 4th, Indy was one of best 4th qtr teams in league
Atl: gave up FG w/ over 11 mins left to trail by 3.
NE: O didn't score entire 2nd half
 
Well, see some people feel that our offense just needs to score more in the 4th quater which I agree we do. However, if our offense needs to score more in order to win, doesn't that also means that our defense is not holding the other team from scoring?....lol......I do see what a poster wrote that our defense is bending but not breaking which is good but while they're "bending" our offense is on the sidelines. However, our defense has done much better this year coming up with turnovers so I give them credit there.

I agree to some point that the D is the reason we are here because they helped a lot early in the year when we were a turnover machine on offense. The last 5 games though, Tannehill has been playing very good football and is a huge part of our success.

If your Defense cannot stop the run, you don't have a Defense.

yea but Tom Brady didn't have Gronk, Thompkins or Dobson. I understand miami was without Grimes, Patterson and Carroll for most of the game. but we have to get better vs the run. That's my biggest gripe is the run which comes down to LB play
 
That defense a lot of people are praising almost allowed Brady to march right down and win the game and a potential replacement to cal Stanford as the most embarrassing play of all time. We're a missed pi and a toe from being 6-8 and completely demoralized from 2 gut wrenching losses. The d has been lucky of late, definitely not good.

Also all this bend but not break stuff is a lot of bs. How many times has the offense taken a lead and the momentum only to have the defense give it right back the following drive??? It's not just about how many yards and points you surrender, it about when you surrender them that makes a defense good or bad.
 
fins will give what i call junk yards , but when that offense hits the 20 , its a diff story
 
Some of you will never be happy. Some of you will continue to wine and complain even when stats, the league, and our record disagrees with it. We have beaten the division leaders of three out of the four in the AFC. and yea we lost some game but so has every other team. Our D, as I have previously pointed out with logic, is top ten in the league. I'm sorry this isn't Madden and we aren't playing on easy mode shutting every team out, but in the real world we have a great O

All teams "march down the field" on all others. Sometimes it happens at bad times. Sometimes we get away with calls, sometimes other teams do. So what? All that matters is you win on Sunday. We have now won enough to put ourselves in place to be in the playoffs and in the playoffs against a team we beat.

So quit your bitching and enjoy the winning.
