Anyone Realize John Jerry Was Not Cut?

So we all agree we need to spend high draft picks for OL next year? LMAO

Another reason to be prepared for a 6-10 season. the FO DOES NOT know how to make good decisions. Year after year they prove this. In alot of aspects, all of us on finheaven would run the team and make better decisions than these clowns

Instead of one of the 3 QB's, their going to take a RT.

We need to develop some young guard. Were hurt at both tackle and guard. Need to develop for the future that's why jerry was kept. He has only played one year. He needs more time.

True but I dont really feel too confident Sparano can develop players

That about sums it up. He was a 3rd round pick last year and he still has a high ceiling. Yes, he had an atrocious offseason, but that doesn't mean he can't be whipped back into shape before next year. I wouldn't drop him just yet. In fact, regardless of who/what position we address in pick-ups this weekend, Austin Spitler would be my guess for first man cut. So we could have an upgrade fall into our laps and still keep Jerry in the fold.

Who on the OL would you have kept instead of him? If we cut Jerry we would only have 8 OL players which isn't enough going into the season, we already have only 23 offensive players compared to 27 defensive.

Not Sparanos job to develop Oline positions, people do not understand that. Its the Oline Coaches job to make sure each player develops in a positive manner each year, not the HC job.

paul soliai, a 4th round pick, appeared unmotivated and overweight at times early on in his career. i am not saying that john jerry is paul soliai, but i am willing to give him an opportunity to have the light come on and turn it around, a la paul.

I really hope that Brian Waters signed with the Pats bc that's where he wanted to go. I hope we at least gave chase...perfect fit for us. Good dude, veteran, part of the best rushing attack in the league last cpl years..

If Chad Henne develops and continues what he's doing...than yes, i would be down for that. Or an elite tight end.

Well you got your wish, Waters is with NE now. Why would you hope NE gets a Pro Bowl RG ?

yeah so lets cut a OL we took after 1 year ?

considering he's our backup and has a lot of talent to be a starter very soon plus he's a 3rd round pick so he's not up against the cap too much.

i am so close of being done with this forum with all complaining

Murtha being put on IR secured the job of one of the Olineman we kept. IMO it would have been between Jerry and Feinga being cut. Jerry, above all people, really needed a full off season of OTAs, padless practice/walk thru's and lifiting. Apparently he was no different then many other NFL players that simply did nothng to stay in proper shape.

With that in mind, I can see the team giving him this season to get it together. Hey, not many teams that have all pro backups out there. For that fact, if people really knew what they were talking about, they would understand most teams have about the same talent in backups as we do.

Read around the league message boards. The majority of them all have blind people slamming on key boards proclaiming the FO blows for keeping this guy, it blows for cutting that guy.

Pick a team, its the same thing all over. Just different names used on the boards but the views and opinions are basically the same. A favorite player is cut, the FO blows, a player they do not like is retained, the FO blows. A FA they would like to have is not signed, the FO blows. Not all the season tickets are sold, the whole organization blows. The majority of NFL teams are facing blackouts this year especially ALL the Florida teams. Things are not as robust as Mr. Obamadewuwanna proclaims them to be.
