Anyone remember Kirby Dar-Dar?
Well, he was a big star running back here at Syracuse University. The Dolphins signed him as an UFA in 1995 and moved him to WR. He was one of those guys that practiced really well and looked good in camp, but frequently was hurt and that stunted him. Unfortunately, he got a nickname here..."Kirby Drop-Drop".
Well, anyway, a few months ago, he walked into the place I used to work and asked if I could print out his resume from a disk. I did it for him and asked for his autograph. He very kindly obliged and I talked to him for a few minutes. He was a very good special teams player for Miami and I mentioned that I remembered him blocking a punt against Houston in 1996 that changed the momentum of the game. He smiled and was rather surprised that I had remembered that. Very nice guy and my female co-workers were giggling about what a nice smile he had.
So he's running an arena football team up here and they're going through their expantion throws right now, but that's my installment in "Where are they know?"
