Honestly if you want to see a circus, look at the Texans. They just fired their top scout and director of pro personnel.....Huh?!

That team generally had plenty of talent. The problem was keeping Kubiak in place for 7 years with a win % of .488.
Guess who's fault that was? Not the scouting department.
 
Ridiculous. He did nothing in the draft and his own team doesn't want him as GM.

I like Marc Ross, but to my knowledge we haven't been able to interview him after initially asking permission. I guess he's taking another job. I would say at this point definitely hire Xanders, like today. He has a ton of experience and has had a hand in some great drafts in Denver. He did well with the Lions first draft. Weird thing about Xanders though is that there is some folks in the NFL who are negative on him, I hear it on the radio, and have read some blog posts about it by people claiming to be NFL insiders. I don't know if this is disinformation or what, but Xanders seems like the best candidate for us, by far.

I hope to god they don't hire Farmer.

They could be wrong.

I personally think my Warden made the wrong choice when he passed me over for another candidate in my last
couple of promotion boards.....To include a SGT that didn't last two months at our (My last) unit.

Just because a choice is made to pass over one candidate doesn't mean that he's not the best. There
are lots of factors in place that can lead to the wrong choice being made. There's nothing about the Bucs
that impresses me as an organization, but that's usually an indicator of top down than bottom up
in my experience and opinion.

Of course, this guy could be a complete turd, also.

There's no reason, imo, not to be ready to choose a GM at this point, if you seriously like the candidates. If Ross is lukewarm on them, then I'd understand, but that is not what is being reported in the media. The only reason to hold out is that there is a candidate that can't interview yet and who they still want to talk to. That could very well be someone on the BIG FOUR. If that's the case, then kudos to Ross. If not, hire the best candidate you've interviewed to date, right now.

Well, if you don't think that Armando keeps his pulse on the fanbase so that he can come up with the most frightening articles possible to generate buzz, you clearly haven't been paying attention!

Hopefully because this was reported by Armando, we can file it under "Eric Mangini is going to be your new GM and Carl Peterson will be your new football czar." Or maybe under "Mike Tannenbaum is a real possibility for the next Dolphins GM."

Considering how much the absolute idiots that pass for "Media" in South Florida get wrong.....miss....slant....outright butcher.....
I don't consider "What's being reported in the media" to have much, if any accuracy at all. Time will tell what the truth is, and
that's about it. I'm going to choose to be optimistic than the alternative.

I know for a fact that Hackmar has rabbit ears about this site, as does Armando.
They aren't stupid...Well, Armando's not stupid anyway....They're just without journalistic
integrity or ability.
 
this is all i really want to hear in our gm search/hire. SUCCESSFUL, PRODUCTIVE PERSONNEL MAN!!!

its what we need most in the front office and its whats been lackig her for many, many years.

there is something i really like about xander, but this guy hicky seems to be an having talent acquisition success for many years now.

if he is the guy, i wont cry thats for sure. is weird though that the bucs are not interviewing him. maybe they thought no one would be interested in him and they thought they could sit on him and retain his services with no competition.

watch, now they will offer him the farm [and the horse].
 
I don't really understand some of the bitching people are doing... Actually some of it I do cause people will bitch no matter what. Personally don't know whether he's the best candidate or not, but he deserves a shot if he is hired

Any of these guys deserves a shot. However, this meandering process could create reasonable doubt of why it took so long to hire him.
 
I'd like to know how much Hickey was involved with the hiring/firing of Schiano, because that dude was a train wreck. I can't even tell how good a coach he was because of all the extraneous noise coming from his tenure.

I have believed for a long time that this where they get 95% of the information they write. If you follow threads on here closely and read their crap it's clear as night and day.

Very lazy and poor job performance follows.
 
Mando is more connected than people give him credit for. He has been very cold of late, however.
