Apparently at the interview yesterday the Bucs Hickey hit one out of the park

I have believed for a long time that this where they get 95% of the information they write. If you follow threads on here closely and read their crap it's clear as night and day.

Very lazy and poor job performance follows.

There's been a couple of time that Omar has completely lost his cool at this site, and quoted or almost
directly quoted certain posts. I personally take credit for him striking the word "Telling" from his
vocabulary.

Mando is more connected than people give him credit for. He has been very cold of late, however.
You'd think if he was connected he could report accurate information.

There's a reason why the talented ones leave Miami, and the untalented ones stay.

I agree he has been cold of late.

Any of these guys deserves a shot. However, this meandering process could create reasonable doubt of why it took so long to hire him.

I'd accept that as an answer if I didn't know that no matter what the decision the team makes people will bitch long and hard. Looking at the candidates we interviewed...

Ray Farmer-He's from the Browns don't want
Lake Dawson-Titans don't want
Brian Xanders-He drafted Tebow don't want
Dennis Hickey- He is from the Bucs don't want
Omar Khan-Not a personnel guy don't want
Jason Licht-Cardinals don't want
Brian Gaine-He worked under Ireland don't want

3 names everybody wanted declined to interview; we suck nobody wants to be part of our team blah blah blah.

Plus, it's been a 2 week search. The fact we don't have a GM yet is not a big deal. Personally after the last time we hired a GM (Ireland) I'd expect people would rather have a true search

Also I'd give Mando more credit if it wasn't obvious that he was doing a smear campaign in support of Jeff Ireland

You are right on the bad mouthing that will happen.

If they have waited this long, why not give Eric Mangini an interview. If they lose tomorrow, they are free ASAP. If the Niners win, they have all next week during the bye.

End of thread.

Because only you think that's a good idea

LOL. Easy now. I love Mangini. I am not going to lie. My dark hope is the Niners beat the Pats in the Super Bowl. Mangini will be hated even more where I live. If it is the Pats vs. Niners, Spygate will rise again. Belichick cannot win the big one without Mangini.

Because the hiring of a micromanaging asshole that doesn't have the slightest idea of what human interaction
is all about worked out so well for the Jets and The Browns. Most people get better as they go though their
careers. He's actually gotten worse. There's very little that a guy with a .412 career winning %, no post season
wins, and 2 out of his 5 seasons as winning ones brings to the table that impresses me about his ability
to do anything but be a coordinator.

And what has Mangini accomplished...Well, period as anything other than a coordinator?

My latest take is pretty much akin to when Ozzie Newsome, who knew Rex best, decided to pass over the logical candidate for a ST coach from the outside. And that's if Tampa Bay, who's known Hickey for quite some time, doesn't think he's qualified to take the next step up in responsibility, then if not good enough for them then why should he be for is?????

In all fairness, Tampa isn't exactly known for their sound decision making.

That's the Glazers for ya.

Vaark makes a decent point, BUT at the same time there have been great in house candidates for other openings that got passed over for an outsider (Ken Wisenhunt in Pittsburgh). Rex's issue is that a lot of teams don't how he deals with the media. It's similar as to why it took so long for Mike Zimmer to get the job.

Again I'm going to sound like a broken record, but sometimes a slam dunk candidate on paper is anything but a slam dunk candidate. That is why patients and an open mind is key. Don't believe me? Read how excited everybody here was when we signed Bill Parcells. How excited everybody was to be "stealing" Jeff Ireland from the Cowboys. Hell, go as Cleveland Brown fans how excited they were after getting Phil Savage as GM and Romeo Crennel as HC... or how excited they were with their coaching staff going into the year. Or see how disappointed Raven fans were that they were hiring a ST coach to be their guy over Rex Ryan.

I think this is how the interview went.

Questions 1: Can you spend a ton of cash in free agency and not generate any wins because of it?

Answer: Well we did bring in Vincent Jackson, Dashon Goldson, and we traded for Darrelle Revis to give him 96 million dollars, I think I can spend you money.

Question 2: How do you feel about second rounds picks?

Answer: Just throw em away. I drafted Da'quan Bowers, Brian Price, Arellious Benn, Dexter Jackson, Arron Sears, and Sabby Piscitelli since 2007.

Question 3: How do you feel about head coaches?

Overrated, thats why we gave Raheem Morris and Greg Schiano the job.

I know for a fact that Hackmar has rabbit ears about this site, as does Armando.
They aren't stupid...Well, Armando's not stupid anyway....They're just without journalistic
integrity or ability.

Good point. Those constantly providing hackman's links and starting threads to his nonsense are probably getting free journalism advice from him as well.
