Are dolphins trend setters?

cmon stop braggin about nothing...

the nfl teams have been getting cfl players since warren moon, doug flutie, and even before those two ... (and i can get you a pretty long list... the colts, by themselves, have been getting a canadian player almost every year since 2002)

Earth orbits around the sun, not the other way around

Same question to you name a defensive player to make the switch? It's always been QB's, and a couple of WR/RB's.

So yeah going after pass rush specialist from up there is a new trend and Parcells was the 1st to venture into the idea. Calm down no one is claiming he reinvented the wheel, it was just a smart move.

to name a few recent guys i'm aware of, atogwe (st-louis rams safety) is canadian, Idonije (defensive lineman for the bears) is also canadian
Sebastian sejean is a guy i played against, and is on the rams' practice squad. Etienne boulay is a safety for the montreal alouettes, and the jets brought him to camp twice in the last 4 years ...

this is just what's popping in my head right now, but there's more (especially in the west, i can bet there are guys out there i'm not aware of and are on nfl rosters... )

so i guess what you're saying is... in example... when NHL teams signed european players, they weren't trend setters ... but the first team who signed a european goaltender was a trend setter ?

I'm sorry but i raise the BS flag on this one ...

looking at this list, it's pretty 50/50 regarding offensive and defensive players...

EDIT: i don't know what the teams' names at the end mean... probably the teams interested in the player

I remember Kelly Cambell when he was in the NFL a few years ago.

It seems like they are, but that's because it really is a copycat league.

Every year they all copy what worked the year before from other teams. They copy plays from team to team throughout the season.

The trends you mentioned aren't new just because the fins did them. Teams did the same things in the past.

Parcells is just very saavy.

One other area of note...

Having a LT who can wear down the opposing "light in the shorts" RDE is break in trends..., from the swift moving LT....

Running the ball effectively..., QB under Center is a welcome sight in a pass happy league of copycats...,using the 2-3 yard dunk and shovel pass - QB in the shot gun formation... League

...

Dan Federkeil - Tackle for the COLTS - Born in Medicine Hat and I believe played college fopr the Calgary Dinos

Name another defensive player?

I just said I wasnt sure buy why does it have to be a defensive player? I'm sorry but we are not the first team to get a player from canada, and thats what my reply is about.
