This is now Thigpen's team. It will go as far as he takes it.
I can't believe I just typed that last sentence. What a crazy week!

Yes, it is possible. It isn't like Miami is 4-5 games behind the current seeded teams, they are just one game back. Currently(not including the on-going Patriots/Steelers game) the seeding is this:
1. Jets (7-2)
2. Steelers (6-2)
3. Colts (6-3)
4. Raiders (5-4)
5. Patriots (6-2)
6. Ravens (6-3)
Miami is currently sitting tied at #7. It hurts that we lose head to head tie breakers with the Ravens and Steelers. It also hurts that we already lost to the Patriots and are just 1-2 in the division. But with 7 weeks still to go and the fact that Miami has a winning record currently gives them a chance. Our biggest enemy right now may be injuries.
Keep this in mind, Miami was sitting at 4-5 at this point last year. They were mathematically still alive for the playoffs in Week 17 last season. A lot can happen between now and the end of the season, so we are definitely not out of the hunt. If Thigpen can play decent, this may be the beginning of our playoff push.
r the chiefs ahead of us? we have the same record with the same amount of conference losses?Ravens lost today and the Steelers look like they are going to lose as well which is good for us.
Jets and Patriots both won which is bad for us.
IF we can beat the Jets and Patriots and with a few other teams helping us out by losing it's not out of the question but it's a wildcard slot at best unless the Jets (hopefully) fall apart.
As far as I can tell, the wildcard situation at the moment looks like we have the Patriots, Ravens and Chiefs ahead of us with the Jets, Steelers, Colts and Raiders leading their divisions.
