Are we overblowing the McMichael situation???

Yes, he needs to be in an alcohol program. That is clearly the catalyst of his marital problems.

On the other hand, we don't know if he "beat up" his wife. From the sounds of the report, she was just as much a culpurit and if Randy really wanted to hurt her, he could have done so. But he didn't.

Now, I'm not saying I approve (far from it, he's stupid if you ask me) of what he did, I'm just waiting till more facts come to light.

No you're right, we don't know what happened and may never know if she doesn't want to pursue it. Either way, Randy has got to get his life under control. It's kind of a double edged sword because the reckless abandon that he lives with, probably helps him on the field. Sort of like a crazy rock star, he seems like a tormented dude. Outside of football, I hope things work out for him as a person.

Exactly.

OK, all you bleeding hearts: This is not another thread for everyone to vent their anger at Randy and start calling him a "wifebeater" and such. I don't dismiss what he did either, but I have a question.

I am just wondering, are we making a mountain out of a molehill because of a domestic dispute between a married couple?

Here's why I ask this.

Go watch ESPN News. Go watch the NFL Network. Go watch any TV Station, and tell me if you see any little snippet whatsoever about the Randy McMichael situation. If it were that big of a deal, don't you think it would have made the news, being how slow of a sports time of the year this is???

(unless it's a local South Florida station, because then it would be just because he's a local player.)

I have seen NOTHING when it comes to the incident. I've watched all the news channels and no one has reported anything.

Now, compare that to last year. ESPN, ESPN News, and even out-of-Miami local stations carried the McMichael ordeal when he shoved his pregnant wife. I have seen nothing on this go-round so far.

Is it really that big of a deal? Are we overblowing this?

I think only time will tell whether it is being overblown. Last night when Ifirst heard I was pizzed at him. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice........Obviously McMike and his wife have issues they need to work out. But what bothers me more than anything is the way some people are reacting to it. Like it didn't matter or was no big deal..(That's not directed at you DD28. I think it's clear which posters I am refering too.) 1 of 3 things is going on here.
1. Those people have too much apathy towards this kind of thing.
2.Those people care more about winning than ANYTHING else.
3. Those people are wifebeater themselves.
As far as what should happen to McMike, I think we should wait to see this unfold a little more.

Yeah, that's kind of what I mean.

I know you know this, but I'm not one of the guys who is like "hey, screw it, he plays for the Fins."
I don't think that way at all, I just want to see more facts come to light before I pass judgement. That's all.

I'm just a little tired of people on here who are ready to throw Randy to the wolves when we don't even know fully what happened, and, when the media has covered this story barely at all. I've seen very little on the national news about this incident.

Lets talk football and stop pretending that we know everything.

It's overblown because it's offseason. There's nothing else to talk about.

JustaBillsfan is right people are blowing this out of proportion, no one should give a damn after this week.

Hey Justa is that stalker still bothering you?:D

Heres the deal McMike is wrong as wrong gets however def fine him and make an example that he is wrong. Beyond fining him sports are different than regular jobs in pays incentives and abilities. If someone does that somewhere else working for law enforcement or military they are done with career either over or severe demotions. In this case he is part of our rebuilding and is an excellent tight end. We need him on the field. Bottom line yes its wrong you cant justify it being right and especially because its the second time. Its the first real documented one where charges were brought up but i think we should leave it go. The bigger deal everyone makes of it the worst the punishment will be.

We over blow everything anymore in America, News and especially bad news drives most americans.
