Like I have been sayin, philbin has worked with Flynn for a few years now so philbin and the packers staff know if he has good chance of being good. That is why I will stand by what ever decision is made with flynn all because philbin knows if he is ready and worth the money.

What would you rather do, mortgage the farm and get RGIII or spend a tiny little bit of Mr. Ross' billions and go get Flynn. If Coach Philbin is for it its a no-brainer!

Cuz you have to give him a huge contract most likely. Kolb got a 5 year, $63 Million, $21 Million guaranteed. So its going to be something like that I'm guessing.

But Kolb has also failed miserbly so it is likely that most teams will not offer that type of contract to him because of Kolb...

I'm not necessarily sold on Flynn. There would be, however, cause for optimism were we to sign him due to A.) he'd be going into, at the very least, a similar system to the one he has been playing in, B.) Green Bay back up QBs have a tendency to pan out, and C.) I have never seen Kevin Kolb, AJ Feeley, or any of the other guys he's being compared to put up 480 yards passing and six TD passes in one game. Signing him would also open the draft up for us to address players at other positions, such as Courtney Upshaw, Coby Fleener, or David DeCastro.

There really is not a comparison to Kolb, Kolb didn't go to the Arizona to follow his offensive coordinator, the Arizona coaches only knew what they had seen of Kolb on game film, they hadn't been at every practice watching every throw. Seeing how he handles himself both on and off the field and had to learn on the fly. Philbin knows Flynn inside and out and will know whether it's a good idea to bring him in based on having confidence first hand, or, pass on him, again, based on first hand experience and feeling what he's seen doesn't make him worthy of signing to such a big contract. As many have said before, whatever the Dolphins do, will be Philbin's indictment of Flynn, and, will tie him to Flynn for his coaching stay in Miami. If Flynn flops, Philbin will have a short lived career, if Flynn is the real deal, then Philbin will be Sean Peyton....

Guys, lets not forget that our new coach has worked with Flynn and Flynn already knows his offense which he will be implementing. That his a huge step in moving our offense in the right direction. To bring in a new QB and learn his system will hold back the other players on the offense.

Improving our OL will be the biggest impact we need after QB. A good OL makes an average RB look good and giving any QB an extra second or two in the pocket automatically improves their game with the speed the defenses have today. :)

So what your saying is Flynn is a upgrade at QB because he already knows the system? The coach just said if you can count to 4 you can learn the system. So why not keep the guy we have and draft a top Qb prospect to run the system? Why overpay a backup?

Dont know but nobody on our staff is more informed on Flynn than philbin

True. PHILBIN's "endorsement" carries considerable weight, i/m/o.

Still, I wouldn't pay ANYONE money like KOLB got. That's for gullible suckers. And ESPECIALLY not to someone w/a resumee of 2 whole starts, who showcased his "talents" on one of the best offenses in the NFL. I can't help but wonder HOW WELL would FLYNN cope w/COLUMBO (not to mention an OL that was a lot worse generally), and less weapons?

Honestly, if it was just the money it wouldn't be as bad. What the Cards had to give up on top of that (a second and DRC if I recall correctly), it was a very stupid move. If we signed him for that kind of money without giving anything else up, it would be more tolerable.

He's proven it more than Luck and RG3.

They were better in college, sure, but Flynn has shown he can play well in the NFL
Sorry it takes more than 2 games to prove you can play in the NFL. I'll go with the potential franchise Qb's thank you.

No gullible suckers think donkeys can run the kentucky derby. I'll stick with a thoroughbred.
