for a kid who doesn't like the cold flynn played a whale of a game in 30 degree temps and flurries against detroit...

Yea Im sold on him. Why not? We took a chance on Jay Fieldler, without him proving himself. He turned out to be Ok. He led us to the playoffs a couple of times.

The point was that Moore's 6-3 record as a starter last year was deceiving because of the teams he beat. Beating Buffalo who regressed heavily throughout the year twice, the Chiefs, the Redskins, the Raiders, and the Jets. Out of those wins, I would say only the Raiders and Jets were semi-impressive. The rest should have been a given. Matt Moore has more tape, but his record doesn't mean anything because of the teams that he beat. That was my point, which should have been obvious from the start.

You're making the mistake of judging MOORE's performance and W-L record by the final score and "stats". It takes more than that. E.G., DALLAS. It was a "L". But DALLAS scored on a 8 yard drive after COLUMBO whiffed on WARE, who didn't whiff on MOORE. Take away THAT little gift, and DALLAS is a "W". In how many drives did COLUMBO and/or CAREY give up a "hurry" or a "sack" that killed a drive, in each of the GIANTS, DENVER, and PATRIOTS games? 3? 4? 5? More than 5? If this weren't so, then given the final score in each of those games, 1 or 2 FGs (NOT TDs, mind you) WINS for us. MOORE's "record" could just as easily been 4 "W"s better. And DALLAS, the GIANTS, DENVER and the PATRIOTS aren't exactly what you would call inferior competition. So, give credit where it is due, and put the blame where it belongs.

Some of you, in your "evaluations", are either blind or too shallow in your analyses...or BOTH. Bad enough some baboons are refering to MOORE as a "back-up QB". What about FLYNN? He DID put up great numbers in 2 games for GB. But that is what it is: TWO GAMES, QBing for one of the best offenses in the NFL--great coaches, great O-LINE, and great "weapons". How do you think he would've done under PARCELLS/HENNING/SPARANO, et al.? And how well do you think he would've done w/MIAMI's weapons, especially with COLUMBO and CAREY guarding his right side? In NFL football, it matters who your friends are. So factor THAT in.

Maybe FLYNN's the real deal, and maybe he isn't. W/o a solid endorsement from PHILBIN, I might not go after him at all; then again, he played for GB and LSU, and he has shown SOME signs, and he WOULD NOT cost us "draft picks". But as to "starting QB", I'd let him know that it's a 2-Horse Race between him and MOORE, take it or leave it.

No. Flynn sucks.

He's a check down passer. His 6 TD game was a fluke due to an 80 yard run after catch by Grant, a 4 yard pass to Driver that turned into a 70 yard run after catch......

His deep ball sucks.

His pocket awareness is decent, but he ruins it by taking 5-7 stepbacks after the snap. He steps up into the pocket just fine, but as I said, when you go so far backwards into your own field, it makes it hard to protect the QB and avoid the rush to buy time for your WR's

He's not a legitimate QB to build upon. Any QB can checkdown all game with short passes and let the Green Bay talent run around the field.

I don't like him at all. He sucks.

No he didn't.......

All he does is short little passes. Whenever he goes deep, his ball is slow and vulnerable to INT's.

That 6 TD game was fluky and a big statement to how good the Packer offensive system is, and the talented players they have.

ya, but he threw for 480 yds and 6 tds vs the lions , who arguably have the worst secondary in the nfl, and in a pretty meaningless game. he deff deserves to be paid big money and forget being the starting qb, he should not even need to compete for the position, he should automatically get the nod as a starter just like proven qbs do such as brees, rodgers, peyton, brady, etc, he did have 1 great game, so why not.

seriously i dont know whether he will become a good qb or not, but hes almost 28 years old, and the odds are very against him becoming a franchise changing qb. u can say that about any draft pick, but the difference is those guys are much younger, so they have more time to reach their potential also, as opposed to flynn who is closer to 30 than 20.

when i watch him play, he just does not seem like a qb i want. not a strong arm, happy feet, and in order to sign any player, let alone a franchise qb, he should have to prove he can play like this on a consistent basis( obviously not put up 480 and 6 tds each game, but throw for 300 plus, 2-3 tds, no turnovers, make clutch throws, win games, etc)

it would just be foolish to bring a guy like him in as the guaranteed starter and not have to earn it in camp.

If you watch that Packers/Lions game, Flynn played the same game that Aaron Rodgers does. Is Aaron Rodgers overrated? Does he suck?

I'm absolutely not saying Flynn is Rodgers, but he definitely played like him in that game. So if you're using that game as your basis of opinion, I find it really hard to believe that you would think he sucks.

He doesn't do much for me. That's not to say he can't be a starting QB but if you're seeing red flags in games surrounded by awesome offensive talent and facing mediocre defenses, you have to wonder how he'd fare with mediocre offensive talent against top defenses.

Not very well, if you ask me. I'm not convinced that if Philbin wants him, it means he is a guaranteed stud either.

No I am not sold on Flynn. I want Moore as our starter. We should still draft a QB in the draft to sit and learn from Moore.

Moore did well this season.
The Jets loss was horrible I admit.
Broncos should of never won that game. Moore didnt lose it our D did.
The Pats game could of gone either way, same can be said for Cowboys and Giants.

2011 stats
QB rating of 87, 16 TD, 9 INT and a 60.5% completion.

2009 stats
He had a QB rating over 98, 8 TD and 2 Int.

Moore had a concussion in the first game of the 2010 season.

Moore is the best QB the Dolphins have had since Marino so why are we bashing him?
He was in position to beat Giants, Cowboys and Patriots with horrible RT and the Def was doing horrible.

Honestly, I will support whatever Philbin decides. Philbin/Flynn is the best deal we could get out of what's left for us. It's better than mortgaging the future for RG3.

If Philbin likes Flynn and thinks he can do it and help him improve, he will make it work.

If Philbin goes hard after him then I'll be happy as can be. if Philbin basically passes then fantastic. No one knows what this kid can do more then the coaches that see them practice, game prep, film work and train.

So is Philbin decides that Flynn is the man then you have to believe he can be a franchise QB - not necessarily in the tier of Brady, Rodgers but potentially P.Rivers, B.Ben tier

I pretty confident that in the worst case, Flynn is a decent Qb, and best case he could be top 10. But, what i'm wondering is, if Philbin did what he did with Flynn and was at least part of the developpement of Rodgers, i'm wondering what he could with an RG3, who is more talented than the too other. Now that would be shooting for the stars.
