Armando: Captain Negative: Miami Dolphins offense is going to need time, patience

New schemes doesn't explain getting your ass handed to you in 1-on-1 battles.
Per Mando . . . "the truth of the matter is most of these players are simply thinking their way through practice and obviously through the game last week in New York. And that process by which a player is going through his mental notes to make sure he's got his assignment, is thinking about his options depending on what the defense offers, and is thinking about the new techniques the coaching staff is teaching, all takes time." It's all about learning a new scheme and new positions. Nothing about 1-on-1.

So Armando says it's going to take 8 regular season games before we see the offense take off? Sweet we're going to be 0-8 to start the season.

Hmmmmm...obvious points....but this team is going to win this year...not going to apologize for being the one who sees the glass half full...the coaching and different mind set of the players is going to be the difference that translates to TEAM play on the field...we will contend for a playoff spot this year and yes there will be growing pains and mistakes made but they will be overcome and in the end we will have a winning season....some of you should relax a tad

Our defense and special teams will keep us in the games...our offense will come to life soon enough....

Hopefully what Clyde said is true. He has been around and involved with implementing new systems. It is coach speak for the most part but he wasn't really pulling punches. He says A LOT will be learned in the next two weeks or 10 days.

To be fair, this is what a lot of coaches will tell you, including experienced & well regarded offensive coaches like Bruce Arians (usually the guy quoted on this particular subject).

We saw this in 2014 when our offense needed a few games to get going.

We could easily start 1-3 this season... or worse!

The assumption is that at some point Tannehill will be able to run an up tempo offense with more responsibility. There is no history to indicate this is so. In fact, coach Campbell last year said in the past Tannehill was given more responsibility and it affected his passing, so the responsibility was removed and played better.

Hopefully, Doughty will have developed enough at some point during this season to at least get a look. This offense has some legit talent on it, particularly if Tunsil solidifies the OL.

Plumping up the tires of a third string quarterback. Have fun riding that into the sunset. And if tunsil solidifies his spot there's no need for the flat tires of a third string QB. Heck he hasn't even passed Moore

People take the preseason way too seriously. I think the most important things you have to look at are the rookies and the guys on the bubble. everyone else just goes through the motions.
