Armstead expects to return

There was some talk about Armstead maybe retiring; looks like he's giving it another go.
I, for one, am glad. With all the holes to fill, we need him another year. Hopefully he holds up.
Why even say hopefully he holds up. You know damn well he wont.. I'm not trying to sound rude here. I'm just tired of him and all the cap he's taking up just to play not even half the year. I'm over it

He's here so wish him luck lol

The coaches and gm knew what they were getting a part time player

His contract isnt that bad for his position and caliber.

Well, atleast we know both Tackles are good to for next season.

If a guy like Mims falls in the draft, I still take him, if not I am focusing on IOL.

C. Williams will be the deciding factor here of course.

For half the season with Armstead anyway...

The financial problem would have been worse if he retired. I think it would have cost us an additional $4 million on the cap this year on top of the $20 million hit he already had if he retired before 6/1. I could be wrong, but a retirement counts the same as a cut on the salary cap if I understand it correctly.
I think you are right. Thanks for the info!

Having to rely on Williams is like sore toe Armstead now you see him now you dont..we need to make the best out of the draft and free agents

Good news. 1 more year and then likely cut after 2024 with a 12.7 dead cap hit. This is a very important year for our GM, HC and QB. I want them all to succeed and that means winning at least 1 playoff game in 2024 to at least show a little bit of progress. If they can't even do that we're just spinning our wheels.
We have legit zero chance of winning a playoff game.

The QB showed us his ceiling this year and the defense will be far regressed.

I guess we just need to give up then

I mean he barely plays anyways. and I haven't been overly impressed when he does play.
Yup.

He's a liability.

Doesnt practice with the team and only plays half a season.

Oline is more about cohesion rather than individual performances (and, let's face it, he wasnt that impressive when he actually was on he field.)

I have my concerns at quarterback but I'm gonna keep it at sore big toe lol
