I briefly looked at the first page of posts on the forum and I didn't see this posted. This journalist really slams the Fins organization, even referring to Ireland as a "snake".

What are your thoughts? Is such bad press warranted with the way our organization handled Bess? In my opinion this has "Ireland" written all over it, and I am very satisfied Ro$$ fired this fool.

If this has been posted already, I apologise.

Holy hell...what a season!

Troubled players get cut and sent off everyday. Its just easy and trendy to bash the dolphins, especially as the exec who did it is gone

what? Players aren't accountable to their own actions? These millionaires are not responsible for their lives?

What about his family?

Such bull****. My job isn't responsible for me.

I saw it earlier. I think the Fins did not operate in good faith, but the writer goes over the top.

At some point, Bess is responsible for himself and not his employer. The Fins can get into a ton of **** if they cough up confidential info to another employer. Miami should have just released him and not swung a deal, but this writer might have killed them for that as well.

With all the bad stuff in the world, this guy seems to put this near the top.

They should have traded nut job Martin too.

This guys sounds like a rep for the NFLPA. Its a cutthroat industry, and Miami (or any other team) should not be responsible for keeping a player because he has a mental illness. NFL franchises aren't health clinics.

I feel for Bess, but Cleveland should have at least reached out to Bess before the trade, or given him a physical or something. And the author didn't mention anything about Bess' agent negotiating a new contract and never disclosing any mental illnesses. Cleveland got burned by Jeff Ireland, and by Kenny Zuckerman.

This is ridiculous, although I don't agree with Ireland not telling the Browns HOWEVER the Browns could have done their research especially before signing him to an extension. There are many players that are released after run ins with the law & what about the responsibilities of Bess himself & his family & friends.

I didn't read the article, how did he get around the fact the Dolphins can't divulge any players personal health issues?

Blame Bess's agent.

Aren't the players all members of the NFLPA (a union) and contract their services to the NFL teams via their agents? Shouldn't the NFLPA and the players agents be responsible for any misrepresentation more so than the Dolphins?

im sure Bill Belechick wishes he could have traded hernandez just before found for murder.

WHY is this writer NOT putting any blame on the Browns for not watching over Bess more closely????? It seems like things got worse recently according to his recent twitter posts. I was a fan of Bess & truly hopes that he recovers from this.

The author of the article is questioning why the fins didn't stick with Bess while he went through treatment to get him stable . I'm aware recovering from mental illness isn't achieved over night, but the fact of the matter is, rather then help one of their players through a rough time, the Fins decided to disassociate themselves from him- immediately.

When Bess was traded it seemed logical to me without knowing about his mental health issues. He offered no YAC, was pricey and was entering the last year of his deal. Now hearing the mental issues sounds like even more of a reason to move him. This article is just stupid. From a business/football perspective it made sense to move him, yet this clown is saying that we should've kept him because we knew he was sick in the head? Why isn't the broncos getting this kind of flack for trading Marshall to us? What a joke.
