As disturbing as the recent domestic violence stories are...

You know our team sucks when the feel good thread of the week is "Well, we're not the team with a domestic violence problem right now..."

Well, our team HAS sucked. I still believe!

Amazing we go from punching the Pats in the face and we're greeeeeeeeat (tony the tiger voice) to the Bills shoving their foot up our ass and we suck. Maybe the Pats suck this year, maybe the Bills will make the playoffs. Personally I believe this team is better than the Pats and the Bills have our number. One thing I do know, this is not a ****ty team.

Remember when anonymous NFL execs and some fans thought Michael Sam would be a distraction?

I bet they'd kill for an all gay NFL team right now. LOL

Isn't it a bit of solace for it not to be the Dolphins in these constant headlines....after last year I'm glad the negative media spotlight is on other teams.

.

we need our men to act like men off the field, dont give the talking heads a reason to hang you. do this and develop an attitude on the field and expect to win, this group can change the status quo...
Well the most recent arrest happened today by an Arizona Cardinals backup RB Jonathan Dwyer, wonder if he gets placed on the all mighty commissioner's exempt list ? Doubt it.
I would bet there are many wives / girlfriends / children of NFL players that thank god every day since the NFL has finally put it's foot down on domestic violence. They can lead their lives with a slimmer of hope that they will be safer.

John Stewart is saying the same thing right now on the Daily Show.

I don't want there to be domestic violence but there's a part of me that's pleased the Dolphins aren't involved b/c it shows that most NFL teams have ****-ups on their roster.

I'm really not shocked at all about the way this season has gone so far. When you step over morals for a buck you get what you get and NFL stomped a mud hole in moral's ass for millions of bucks years ago.

That Rice video really blew this up. The NFL has been handing down laughable punishments to domestic abusers for years, the only thing different this time is that there was a video that actually showed domestic abuse and got people riled up.

The 2 game suspension was in line with the way Roger doled out punishment for similar cases in the past, so he probably thought nothing of it at the time. He had tunnel vision, and didn't consider the unique circumstance of this case that included a video. Pure arrogance. This is what happens when you fly too close to the sun.

What makes you think that an all gay team wouldn't get into trouble?

If the 24-7 media were around in the 70's the NFL wouldn't BE HERE right now.

I'm all for getting rid of Ray Rice and what AP did is just as bad, but this climate of constantly and instantly passing judgement is galling.

This is partly Roger's fault for the way that he has coddled the media and forced players & coaches to do interviews.

The media love this stuff because most of them are not really into the NFL for the sport but just want to wallow in the popularity.

I'm wondering how many of these wives who are unhappy are gonna start crying wolf so they can try and cash in. Gonna be funny to watch all these teams deactivating players left and right, just gonna be sad when it happens to guy who's actually innocent. It's a modern day witch hunt.

No video? No bruises? no evidence. Notwithstanding the fact that it completely belies the abused wives' agenda of staying because of the money. With an abusive husband who is an NFL player, there is no money if the husband is suspended from the team. The real agenda is when an abused wife has had enough despite the money, and is willing to walk away from it all and destroy her husbands career at the same time. That's the one I would be afraid of if I were THAT guy.

But you're right, this is a witch hunt: to rid our society from really bad people, regardless of what they do for a living. We have to elevate the consciousness of our society before we can make any real progress.
