Baldy's break down of Tua for preseason raiders game

Why does every positive Tua post have to end with "this will show the haters"? I feel like kindergarden in here. It's ok to have a different opinion, even if it's not the same as yours. I for one think Tua has shown nothing so far to make me believe he's the real deal. One awesome pass won't change that. At the same time one terrible interception will not make me scream "cut his ass". He's our starter this year, I have my doubts but I'm ok if you believe he's going to take us to the promised land.
Well to be fair, most Tua criticism is on the kindergarten level. Typically their posts are riddled with poor grammar, short sentences, parroting simple minded things from others. Seems like a 5 year old’s mentality to me.

The issue with the offense right now is the same issue it has been for the past several years. The offensive line just doesn’t provide quality blocking on running plays. Hopefully once Armstead starts playing during the regular season, the overall OL play will improve.

I am not worried about Tua, the WR’s or the RB’s being able to do their jobs if the OL does their job. Yet so far in the first two preseason game, the OL has continued to struggle in the running game. Since the Dolphins offense is based around a lot of play action passes. It’s going to be difficult to get defenses to bite on play action if they have no fear of the Dolphins running game.

i don't think they are showing anything about what our run blocking scheme will be week one.

this is likely just pure vanilla hat on a hat.

no nothing.

(obviously you would like to blast people backwards regardless, lol).

compound that with Cheetah and Penguin not lining up, so even the preseason defenses can pack 9 in the box to load up against the run.

with armstead out there and our full complement of weapons and our scheme in effect, be prepared to not recognize one thing regarding the preseason running attack on September 11.

Yeah, that narrative was and still is just as tired and untrue as the weak arm fallacy.

Tua absolutely can and does go through progressions well. Trouble was, our offensive line was so bad that the offense last season and before was designed for quick throws, often an RPO. They wanted him making one or two reads max otherwise it was likely a sack or hurried throw.

But the anti Tua geniuses here can’t seem to recognize.

I'll not give my 'baseline, ' sermon, but I'll note my discomfort with 'but he had a receiver open in the flat.' EVERY QB misses open receivers. Their eyes are on the #2 in progression when #3 is open. That's football. Pretending that is sign of failure is inability to understand football. Not having the mental quickness to go through progressions in a career killer. TT doesn't seem to have that flaw

good breakdown but the screen if making me ill

Hopefully you are right but the offensive line has been handled very easily in the past two preseason games in one on one blocking when they try to run the ball.

I expect the Dolphins to have a better running game once the regular season begins but I also expected the OL to be better than it was the past few years.

I do agree that once Waddle and Hill are in the lineup, that should prevent defenses from stacking the box to stop the run but until I see the OL start opening holes in the running game, the OL remains my biggest concern going into the season.

Same, but not based on anything I've seen in camp/preseason.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the run game yet. I do share the sane concern about he OL, but u don’t game plan for these preseason games. Just running base plays. In season u script and plan a more cohesive attack. Not excusing the OL but the run game isn’t as tactical right now as it will be. Armstead such a anchor for the group as well.

Because you have idiots thinking Skylar should start over Tua.

Because of the likes of some saying tua isn’t the guy because he didn’t throw deep passes in the game but former nfl players explained the break down. And Thompson whose done well, but shown he’s a starter to some because he launched the ball around a little more……vs third string defenses….

Not sure if I see a clear window for a deeper throw. I see no problem with the way the play developed and how it finished.
Exactly baldy even broke down how there wasn’t an open wr. Dan did too, it was good recognition on tuas part and what gets qbs. One play it looked like a wr was getting by, but linebacker in middle recovered well and it closed off and could’ve been an interception if he tried to throw it when it seemed open. Windows close fast in the nfl. Good read by tua ink on plays
