Barry Jackson Notes: Sturgis/Martin Tidbits

J. Martin will never play in the NFL again. Mark it. He quit on the Dolphins, and he sucked anyway. Flabby arms, not tough physically or mentally. He is a sensitive pup, probably still wets the bed. Things are getting better on the line without him. Would love to get Cog back.

I agree with the 1st part PepWood but I dont think Incog is a Pros Pro who serious about his job and good for the locker room. Too many stories about his exploits,too much baggage & basically a distraction to the franchise. It is not a coincidence that the dust has settled & play is up without him & his buddy.
 
I think the bottom line takeaway of the Martin fiasco is that someone who is mentally soft will also play physically soft.

The weakness of Martin's mind was reflected in Martin's play every week.

Before this fiasco blew up, Martin PROVED on the field that he was perhaps the worst OT in the league.

Soft. Soft. Soft. Soft. Soft.

Weak. Passive-aggressive. Deceptive.

I don't even know the best route to go for kicker... Veteran competition or something
 
I was in favor of drafting Sturgis, I even had him on my draft board in the 5th. He has struggled, but it is too early to say that he is a bust.
