Barry Jackson: Solutions for the O-Line and Other Notes

Wharton, either Chiefs OL, and Strief would be the ones id target. Instead of Albert, id draft an OT with our first pick. But I definitely like Wharton

What kills me about Wharton is he was available at the END of training camp.

It is beyond my math skills, but what his QBR be if we took the "end of game heaves"? Not just his 4th quarter rating, but overall. I have wondered that all year, but I have no way to calculate QBR.

It also didn't seem to factor in the fact that his OL gave him 0.24 seconds to dump the ball most of the time.

Albert is at the top of his game and would have improved the OL greatly. Instead, Ireland opted for an injured CB who made zero contribution to the defense. Of the two, which would have had a greater impact in 2013 in terms of wins?

I was against trading the pick because I thought we might take someone worthwhile in the second. I must have forgotten that we had Jeff Ireland in charge. It's the same reason that I hope we trade up for Jake Matthews if he stays because the dud has proven time and time again that he can't draft OL outside of the top fifteen.

I would draft a Left tackle and a Right Tackle and fill the guard spots with veterans. It makes the most sense to me from a salary cap perspective as you can usually get guards cheaper. We can keep Jerry, Brenner, and Garner as backups, but besides Pouncey, I want the other 4 places replaced.

Prediction: Ireland will be let go. Otherwise there will be more picket signs outside HQs.Send him back to Dallas where he belongs.

If you really want to shake things up hire Jimmy Johnson as your GM or sign him as a consultant. He knows how to clean house.

We have drafted plenty of OL and it has never worked out besides 1, that being M.Pouncey. Dump Ireland and get someone that can finally use the draft process to improve this team!

morgan moses in the first round is a bad pick...he's a right tackle not overly athletic a litte larger than what we want but if they bring him in to play a left tackle i don't see it...anything in the top 50 is too rich imo

tannehill is not the 5th best qb in the 2012 class that's crap i don't care how the last 2 games finished up...

starting to think more and more it will be carl peterson that joins us pretty soon here...

for gods sakes let matt moore go and get that money back...we don't need a backup qb that sucks in the system anyways and if tannehill can take just about every snap after all the contact he took this year provided the oline isnt straight garbage we should be able to keep him healthy...let devlin be the primary backup...if the starter gets hurt we'd be done anyways

dmitri patterson is a coin flip...off how little run we got this year i'm glad it's not my money i know that...carroll the last 2 games was bad

doesnt sound like any changes at lb are in the offing

i seriously doubt they are gonna put all their eggs in a rookie left tackle next year...i know if irelands here they won't

Jake Long did for a while. Wait, that was Parcells. Nevermind.

What cracks me up after reading that is there are some clowns on here that think talent is not the issue on the o- line.

26th ranked run game and 58 sacks...but it's the qbs fault we are at home right now

I don't understand why people don't realize this is an 'all of the above' situation. There is failure across the board. No one should be immune from criticism nor the contemplation of upgrade.

ya when your QB gets sacked 58 times, the first thing you need to do is clean up to OL. Pouncey is the only guy who should be starting in 2014; McKinnie, Garner, Jerry and Brenner can stay as good backups.
