Barry Jackson Sports Buzz 7-30

Why are they waiting for Tannehill to dominate practice? Not sure tthat's ever gonna happen. Here in Denver Manning threw a pick to a DT then today threw a pick 6 to a scrub CB.
I'm not excusing Tannehill but I think those expectations are misplaced for training camp practices.

They must have told him it was the Super Bowl.

Funny lol

And the point to camp is your working out kinks. Your likely to try difficult passes to see if you can complete them. Your gonna throw passes you wouldn't attempt on game day

You do realize that he only had one all of TC last year right

and probably only one during the season to.

its the UNDER THROWING that gets me. most guys over throw the deep guy. tanny under throws 98% of the time. and he has a VERY strong arm.

guy just isnt a deep ball passer. tiz what it iz.

I don't think Satele is an upgrade. He might be able to snap the ball but he can't block...what's the difference?

When Pouncey took over at Center for his brother at Florida he botched snaps repeatedly all season, when he was a rookie for us he botched snaps all season. We already know Garner can snap the ball, he started two games at Center last year without incident. Why sign a player, taking up more of your cap space that can be potentially carried over for next year or used on a player this year should someone suffer a serious injury, who has been average or slightly below average his entire career? We already have that in Garner.

The difference is Smith snapping worm burners back to the QB.

Satele is not going to be a cap issue.

If you are Joe and Dennis, you are risking your tenure with Miami by rolling with a neophyte C? Give me a guy that can snap, ID a defense and fit well with a ZBS.

I think they know Garner is capable. He did it last year. They wanted to see if Smith was. Maybe they saw enough already and want garner to gell with the starters

I like Garner. I am a big Garner supporter. I just am not sure he can man down the C position for 7 games. Garner has got knicked up with extended PT.

I will say this…Garner should be have been the in house candidate from the start.

Didn't we have Satele in for a workout about a month ago? I could be wrong so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I would assume that they would have had some informal discussions about contract demands at that time. Our lack of pursuit could be a result of his salary demands or length of contract. Given Pounceys inevitable return, the FO might not feel a multi year deal makes sense for a guy who hopefully is only needed 4-8 games. Also, Satele may not be interested in a one year deal when he knows that he is most likely going to be replaced by midseason.

You are correct he worked out at the end of June, the team choose Colledge over him at the time for the OL, so they have already evaluated him he is not signed for a one of a couple reasons either his demands or the team does not feel he is an upgrade at this time.

i don't think the preseason games are gonna be a true test of how this oline will perform...let me put it a different way neither atl in week 1 or dallas in the regular season practice run have anything to be all that worried about pass rush wise on the edges...hell atlanta unless they signed someone i'm not aware of still has a massive edge rush hole and the interior dts aren't even our dts level rush wise...dallas outside of henry melton who miami must gameplan for with more help should not be much of a test...

if either of those games look like jail breaks from our oline we in deep **** come regular season...especially the dallas game...pass rush pressure should not be an issue if we gameplan unless this group blows

week 2 is the bucs and i'm pretty sure they signed a high end pass rusher to a big contract or at least paid one like it...and mccoy on the insides a hand full

none of these teams though project to have dominant pass rush units...best is probably tampas...the rams wont play their studs up front in the finale...

I'll be at the Atlanta game. Hope to see good things.

I'm not going to freak out over TC reports.

I'm going to freak out if we look like **** in the third game of the preseason.

Sounds reasonable. I'll say it again. If Tannehill had the best training camp ever, people would complain that Finnegan sucks, Taylor sucks, Davis sucks, Reshad Jones sucks, etc.

Everyone is sweating the botched snaps. I'm not stressing it. Let them fumble early in training camp to get it out of the way. In any sport, the first few practices is when teams get the kinks out.

I'd say Corey Peters, Peria Jerry, and Soliai should be a big enough test for the interior OL. They also have RaShede Hageman and Tyson Jackson who can slide over to DT..

Clinton McDonald and Akeem Spence should also test us in week 2.

Isn't week 4 when teams start to play their starters more to get adjusted?

The way I am currently looking at it, is that the only thing negative people are talking is the Oline. I'll take that.

Center position is the biggest thing. RG the second. I believe we have enough talent between Shelly and Turner/Thomas. I just want to see Larsen get into the mix.

Satele was checked out earlier. We didnt sign him then so not sure why now.

This Chris Mccain kid is 6-5 250.hmmmmmmm. make it happen kid! #47
