Ben McAdoo in Miami today interviewing for Dolphins OC job

Do any of us really believe we can get and established OF like Kubiak with Philbin on the hot seat. IMO it will come down to Lazor or McAdoo. Philbin will get who he thinks gives him the best chance to win.

Another guy that doesn't have play calling experience and will get the job because he knows Philbin. Lovely.

Another guy who didn't do any research on McAdoo; didn't see that what his coaching background or offensive philosophy was, didn't see that he is very respected in the league by both personal people and players, didn't see he had been blocked from interviewing for OC positions in the past by the Packer's because they wanted to keep him, and now that he is no longer under contract with the Packer's has the ability to do so. Lovely.

Sounds like a good candidate.Hopefully we can throw out the A&M offense Sherman installed and get to the pro level.

If Ben McAdoo is the guy: the Packers threw the ball 57.3% of the time in 2013, compared to 65.1% for the Dolphins. Look for more balance.

Gary Kubiak is supposedly very close friends with Mike Sherman and by taking the job, he would essentially be doing Sherman and his family a favor.

If he does not get a head coaching offer I think he would absolutely take this job. Ryan Tannehill would be an outstanding fit for the type of offense he likes to run, too. He would get his name back on the hot list quickly here, IMO.

I'm kind of torn between Kubiak and McAdoo right now. Haven't heard too much about Lazor lately. I'm guessing Ross may have said to Philbin, you pick the OC and we'll pick the GM. But knowing that Philbin's job may be tied to the success or failure of who he picks should be motivation enough for most people.

Sounds great to me. Those are my top two choices and I would be very happy with either. We run the Green Bay offense and it improved in Green Bay after Sherman left and Philbin and McAdoo ran things. It's logical that our offense would improve with this change, and every coach wants a loyal staff that they know is on the same page with them. To me, McAdoo is the obvious choice and a good fit.

Personally, the only OC candidate I like more than McAdoo is Lazor whom I hold in high regard from his days at UVa. The guy has a great mind, great eye, and excellent attention to detail. He is also an exceptional teacher, and our new WR and young QB behind what looks to be a totally remade OL is going to need a lot of teaching. Also, I'm a bigger fan of Chip Kelly than most on this board and think his principles are more than mere gimics. They have some very sound fundamentals and exploit some of the very few opportunities that exist at the NFL level to create and take advantage of mismatches and tendencies. This is a real area of weakness on the Dolphins and I think Lazor would add some of that missing element.

If only we could get OC Lazor AND Gamble for GM.

Well, I like the Packers offense more than the Mike Sherman offense. Philbin wanted to bring McAdoo with him when he was initially hired, and maybe there's a reason for that.

But I'm not sure I like the idea of having a first time OC right at this particular moment. I hope Joe is willing to get involved and help him out. There's also nobody on the staff with playcalling experience, if we hire McAdoo.

Run more no huddle and/or let RT call the plays?

I'm pretty sure I read that he got declined to bring him in when he came to Miami. I could be wrong though..

This would be a reversal from Philbin being brought up by Sherman, Mcadoo would be under Philbin's wing. And O.C. speaking, that may be a good thing.

Yes. As a matter of policy, the Packers don't allow their assistants to interview while under contract. And it's an unspoken rule of the Packers that if you get promoted out of that organization, that's great. Congratulations. You aren't taking anyone with you.

I would be okay with mcadoo as a fall back option if we don't get kubiak. I just haven't been impressed with philbin's choices for his staff.
