Bengals' defense crumbles first time out

one game doesnt prove that martin has gas left in the tank even if he did get almost 200 yards
Ok whatever, how about 9 consecutive seasons with over 1000 yards, and opening up the year looking like he was 25? No? Then I dont know it will take to prove that to you.

Jets have probably a top 20 offense. They are no where near the top 10.

Unless you're going by one game played so far, then I'll give the jets a top 5 based on their performance against the bengals.
tell me why.
Is it because they have one of the best young QBs in the league? No? What about the RB we've been talking about? No? What about 2 great WR's? No? What about having one of the all-time best 3rd down WR's (Chrebet) fully healthy and back? No? What about one of the best Olines in football? No?

Please, if you didnt blindly hate the Jets so much you could see they are stacked on Offense.

While I think Chrebet is a decent receiver. That is a big statement. Especially when you consider all of the WR that have been in the league. And as far as your O-line is concerned I will reserve my judgement on that when we play you.
:roflmao:

2 great Wr's? Where? Not on the Jets. Great goes to receivers named Moss, Owens, and Chambers. According to you, you think the Jets have the AFC pro bowl as a team.

Or maybe you need to redefine the definition "stacked" and "great".

Ill admit the jets offense scares me this year they have upgraded and I think herm is a very good coach the Jets where a joke last year w/o pennington and the look pretty good this year. That being said If the Defense of miami stays healthy I dont think your passing game matches up well with us I think we can clamp it at least enough to win.

Chambers? Please, if anything Santana Moss and him are on the same level.
Justin McCareins outplayed Marty Booker last year. What now?

And before you say something stupid about S. Moss look at these numbers.
2003 New York Jets 74 rec 1105 yds 14.9 avg 10 TDs

And maybe YOU need to reconsider what is great, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Hines Ward, and Torry Holt are the best WR's in the league. Players like S.Moss, Chambers, Koren Robinson, Laverneous Coles are great. But not the best. You threw it out there like if he was Top 3 in the NFL. Come on, and save the Fiedler was passing to him broken record.

Alright overboard on that one, lets change it to "better" then
And I'm not talking about overall WR's, just 3rd down guys when you need to move the chains. Over the last decade it's hard to argue he hasnt been one of the best.

I think the Jets have a pretty damn good offense. Their defense? Not so much. I think they'll have alot of 30-27 type games.

Cmon Icer Mcrarens (sp) Had F*ng Mcnair throwing to him Booker had the wonderful combo of Kordell/That florida knucklehead and he was playing injured you gotta give us Booker hes a 2 time probowler that has never had a decent QB.

.
How can you compare this when Booker played on a Bears team that was just beginning to find itself with a rookie QB. ANd playing with us will be a different game.

So? We judge WR's based on there performance regardless of who gets them the ball. And it's not like Booker put up his great numbers with a great QB back in 2001-2002.

Also, with Fiedler/Feeley passing him the ball it doesn't look like that much of an improvement over what he's had in Chi-town.

Grossman started a whole 3 games last year, dont play it on that. Kordell Stewart was passing to him. But Hines Ward looked great in Pittsburgh with Stewart, it's not the QB who makes the WR.
QB errors result in incompletions and interceptions, those dont reflect negatively on any WR in question. It's not like they dont get the ball thrown there way, because a bad QB will force it there anyway.

Maybe Theisman needs to reconsider as well?

ESPN's Joe Theismann: ``They have been the biggest disappointment the past couple of years. I think 9-7 is not out of reach. Chris Chambers is in the top three in the NFL in receivers. With that defense at its . . age, their window of opportunity is closing. I think they have one more run in them.''
Like I said, he is in the top 3.

Oh god Joe my leg broke said it, it must be true.

Top 3 now that's funny!

2001 Chicago Bears 16 16 100 1071 10.7 66 8 12 4 56
2002 Chicago Bears 16 16 97 1189 12.3 54 6 20 3 54

ya he had a crap quarterback then too you think he past his prime at 28?? what your point? Mcrarens had 1 decent year Booker was the captain and team MVP the 2003 bears WHOLE offense was terrible last O-Line QB RB etc etc and booker was paying hurt.

Booker had 197 catches in those 2 years.

But I wouldn't compare Booker and McCareins. They are two completely different receivers.

Joe's more credible then you are.
