I'm a huge Gators fan, and saying he couldn't cut it at UF is just wrong. He never had a chance to begin with, and with the talent he had, there was no use in sitting around waiting for a chance to start, when he could go somewhere else. That's why he left, it had nothing to do with him being unable to beat out Grossman....

As for his play at UM, it wasn't great. He didn't bring UM down either, that team has been slowly running out of gas ever since Coker took over. The talent Berlin had comapred to what Dorsey had, wasn't even close IMO....

Berlin, thus far as our 4th stringer, has shown more promise than Feeley ever has. The bottom line is this. Feeley's not getting any better, and Berlin has tons of upside potential. Who do you keep???...BERLIN.

Under snap, he's fine if he has time to pick out his reads, but will rush a throw or get sacked when not given a lot of time (first year at UM). Put him in the shot gun, or no huddle and the boy is simply butter.


We all know Sage will never start, Brock is a rookie. With him we have the opportunity to have him groomed into a starter, to be better then Sage and to possibly start. Because of that, he has much more upside. I'd like to see the kid get a chance.

Sorry but no. He was terrible at UF. Perfect example, if you watch his last game at UF (bowl game vs Maryland) Brock played the first quarter bc Rex missed curfew. He threw for like 100 yards 1 td and TWO picks. He overthrew two WIDE open deep post routes. Rex started the second quarter and in one quarter he threw for 2 TDs, no INTS and like 150-200 yards.

He did get better at UM, but he has NEVER shown anything under center. Even in the first two preseason games... the only time he moved the team was in shotgun.

Guys I am all for finding a young QB with potential to be the face of this team for a long time, but let's get over Brock Berlin. He is just not going to be the man. I think Sage has a better chance than Berlin.

If he doesn't start, he won't cost us any games. Can't blame a guy that doesn't play.

Yea, your are right. This saturdays game will be a big piece of the QB puzzle. All we need is someone to step up and act like they want the position. For now i think its GUS

What did I say that made no sense? That he backed up Rex and that's why he transferred?

Rex came to UF one year ahead of Brock. NO ONE expected Rex to ever become the starter at UF, none the less excel as he did.
EVERYONE expected Brock to be the second coming and easily beat out the kid from the mid-west who wasn't supposed to be a top tier QB.
Brock didn't even come close, and was constantly criticized by the UM faithful when he eventually left Gainesville.

Brock has been all about potential for the past 4-5 years. I hope he finally lives up to it.

That's the best and most accurate post I've seen regarding the Brock Berlin nonsense. Berlin was already rumored to transfer to Miami before that Maryland game. After that hideous performance while Grossman was benched, I was desperate for the Canes to reject Berlin's transfer application. It was obvious he was not a Canes caliber QB, so tunnelvision and error prone and limited. He is not a serious option as an NFL QB. This is merely typical of training camp, dissatisfaction at any position leading to bizarre Herculean hopes for anyone buried on the depth chart.
 
IMO, Berlin possesses potential and upside. I only hope he is given the opportunity. If he is given the opportunity, IMO, he will succeed.

LOL.....he was the number one recruit in high school :lol: I guess that overrides the fact that he went undrafted out of college, huh?:lol:

So, you and a few others think Berlin has a shot at being great, but every single NFL GM and scout feels that he isnt even worth a 7th round pick.
Who do you think is more likely to be right?
