Berrios says bye bye........or does he?

Slightly below average on punt returns, slightly above average on kick returns.

Other than the Colonel having a good year, our special teams have been anything but special.

It's good he signaled for fair catches or there would have been a lot more 9 yards returns with a penalty for holding.

Little noticed error on special teams this year was having Christian Wilkins on the end of the FG team.

His shitty effort on a FG against the Titans is the reason we had the kick blocked. I’m still sour about that. Love CW but he didn’t belong on the field there. He was just going through the motions.

That FG and Chubb slamming his helmet cost us 7 points in a one point game.

The helmet slamming is inexcusable, no matter how many sacks you got against Mekhi Becton.

Seems like a great guy. But he never gave a semblance of being a threat on offense or special teams.

He and Wilson were blanketed so many times during games by the other teams 3rd,4th,5th guys in the secondary.

That absolutely can’t happen with Hill and Waddle drawing the majority of the key coverages.

A name to look out for is T.Hills friend in Nicole Hardman(Yes! He fumbled 2x that could have cost KC the game against the Bills.)

He automatically presents a special teams threat and someone that can score from anywhere on the field.

Have to disagree with you here bud, I don’t think his lack of production was an indictment of his skill set, more of a reflection of the offense and Tuas head.

He never once bobbled or fumbled a return.

Did anyone really think the Dolphins were signing Mel Gray or Devin Hester when they brought Berrios aboard? The guy did his job and if he was a one year rental, c'est la vie.

Good day brother. It could of been a lot worse. He was sure handed and was good for 10-15 yards. If the team wants a game breaker on returns then they need do there homework for the draft and UDFA's. :ffic:

Brax is my guy, but he was ineffective as a slot WR. I thought he'd get more targets but struggled to get separation against better teams.
It sure is weird how he always looked good when he played against Miami, both as a slot WR and as a return guy. Then he goes to Miami and is a JAG. So, what was the problem... did McDaniel not use him properly, or was Miami's defense so bad that they made him look better than he really is?

I fall on the side he wasn't used properly nor was Cracraft when healthy. :ffic:

I’m happy to see this one end.

We need a legit threat at WR3 to take some pressure off Hill/Waddle, and someone who can fill into a bigger role if/when one of those guys are banged up (seemingly an issue all of 2023 with BOTH guys).

Berrios, Wilson, Claypool, Cracraft aren’t cutting it. Need better talent there. Also prefer to add a return specialist who is a threat to break one rather than just running into contact like a ****ing power back.

I wonder if Anthony Schwartz has that return ability….. he’s got blazing speed and is also a local guy.

I agree, we need to upgrade at WR3. We need a more reliable pass catching option to complement Hill and Waddle. We need to make teams pay when they try to take both of them away.

The only reason I would keep Wilson is because his cap hit next year will be $2.5M regardless of whether he is on the roster or not. He has returned punts before and he is fine as a WR4 so it makes sense to keep him for those roles.

Agreed. Berrios and Cracraft have some of the best hands on the team and were very much underused.
And Sherfield is making plays in Buffalo. It seems as if Miami is constantly focusing on Hill, and occasionally Waddle. Other teams will feature good TEs, and while Smythe may not be elite, he does make some plays, but they rarely throw the ball to him.

I guess it's no surprise that defenses have easily figured out how to stop Miami's offense.

Nice post brother. We are not using all of our players on offense. This needs to change. :ffic:
