best individual performance in fin history?

How about Louis Oliver in Buffalo 1992... 3 int's with the 3rd going 103 yards for a TD down the sideline to ice the game... 37-10 beating... Oliver seemed to get picks in bunches and man could he hit... I miss him... When he was in his prime he was my favorite player.

If you factor in the importance of the game it has to be Lamar Smith's 40-carry day. That guy was probably in the whirlpool for a week after that game. Think of Kellen Winslow going against us in the playoffs in '81 and you'll know what I mean.

The Fiedler/Chambers performance against Dallas '03 was amazing.

its lamar smith, in a PO game against the colts, i think he had like 40 carries and rushed for 200+ yards with that tackle breaking run for TD in overtime, that game made me  for :D

I know your asking about single performances but my all time is Bills losing to the Fins in the entire decade of the 80's..They were owned by the whole team every year no matter who we had playing for us.. :cooldude:

Another one that stands out in my mind was a 1993 night game at home against Jeff George (heh heh) and the colts... Oliver hit so many people that night it was nuts...plus he had 2 picks one of which he took to the house.

We will have both of those games on the Dolphin Classic games thread soon.

i hate to say this but the Jay Fiedler winning TD run vs oakland if i remember correctly he took it himself 12 yards and won us the game well there is a new 1 also The A.j feeley pass to Derrius "Im A Noone" Thompson vs New England I was very happy too see us win that game vs Patriots

IMO, I wouldn't put this game up there in the "best individual performance in fin history" category since Fiedler would have been the goat since he threw the INT that was returned for TD that gave the Raiders the go-ahead score. He tried to needle it in to a well covered WR and paid the price.

In the 1982 AFC Championship Game the Dolphins faced the New York Jets in a steady down pour at the Orange Bowl. A.J. Duhe sets an AFC playoff record with three interceptions, including one for a 35-yard touchdown romp, as the Dolphins defeat the Jets for the third time in one season to win the AFC crown, 14-0.

One of my favorite games even though it might be boring for those who like offensive firepower. Also on our schedule.

...How bout Dan's last real great game in the Dome vs. Manning and the colts...threw for 400plus yards RAN for a TD...converted a 4th and short with a 20yard completion..then to top it off threw a perfect throw to OG in the corner of the end zone to win the game!!!! IMO Dan's last Dan type of game..and I was there..

Number 1 is no contest.
September 1st, 1994, Dan Marino's first game back after rupturing his Achilles' tendon in 1993. He throws for 473 yards and 5 TDs to beat the Pats 39-35. The game-winner comes on a 33 yard bomb to Fryar on a 4th and 5 play with only minutes left to play.

Some other performances of note:
AJ Duhe in the January 1983 AFC championship game, 3 INTs including a TD.

Dan Marino's 4th quarter comeback in the January 1991 playoff game against KC. Marino goes 8 for 8 with 2 TDs in the 4th quarter, including the most incredible pass to Mark Clayton, for the 17-16 win.

Mercury Morris rushes for 197 yards and 3 TDs on just 15 carries.

Paul Warfield catches 4 TD passes in the first half against Detroit.

Larry Csonka rushes for 145 Yards in the Super Bowl against Minnesota.

Jake Scott makes 2 key INTs in the Super Bowl against Washington.

Freddie Solomon scores on a 79 yard punt return, 53 yard pass reception, and 59 yard reverse against Buffalo in 1976.

Bob Griese throws for 6 TDs in a 55-15 Thanksgiving Day win over Detroit, 55-14.

Don Strock comes off the bench in the playoff game against San Diego to throw for over 400 yards and leads the Dolphins to come back from 24-0 down, before eventually losing in OT.

Dan Marino throws for 5 TDs in the AFC championship against Pittsburgh.

Mark Duper gains 217 yards receiving against the Jets, including the 50 yard game winner with less than a minute left to play.

Lamar Smith rushes for 209 yards against Indy in the playoffs.

Dick Anderson intercepts 4 passes, returning 2 for TDs in a 1973 Monday night game against the Steelers.

Marino throws for 448 yards and 6 TDs in a 51-45 loss to the Jets.

I liked the game where Brian Griese started and Wanny put Fieldler in the 2nd half and he made a great comeback and won. It may have been a Sunday night or Monday game.
