In the 1982 AFC Championship Game the Dolphins faced the New York Jets in a steady down pour at the Orange Bowl. A.J. Duhe sets an AFC playoff record with three interceptions, including one for a 35-yard touchdown romp, as the Dolphins defeat the Jets for the third time in one season to win the AFC crown, 14-0.

Personally, the greatest part of that game was that it was the official beginning to me becoming a dolphins fan. I live in NY and I had decided at the young age of 6 that the winner of that game would be my favorite team. Good thing the fins won or else I would have endured so much more as a Jets fan.

Ya, that Oronde catch rocked!!! But he had quite a few great catches, are you referring to the one where he went across the middle with the dirt infield? Because in my opinion that was the best catch i ever seen.

I liked the game where Brian Griese started and Wanny put Fieldler in the 2nd half and he made a great comeback and won. It may have been a Sunday night or Monday game.

that was sunday night against the Redskins. The first game we wore our Orange Uniforms. God i love those uni's

This one was voted as greatest individual NFL performance, ever, not just Dolphins, by ESPN many years ago.

I remember it well. We were up huge, then Pittsburgh made a BIG comeback. Late, late in the game, Pittsburgh had us close to the goal line and they were behind by maybe 3, anticipating getting a short punt and good return. It looked glum; momentum had swung HARD in Pitt's favor. Shula had Griese run around, burning as much time as he could, and take a safety. At FIRST, the MNF guys (Cosell, Meredith, Gifford) were like, "Oh, MY GOODNESS IS PITTSBURG POURING IT ON" ... then it dawned on them; following the safety we got to kick off from our own 40, rather than punt from the back of the endzone. Their tune changed to "MY GOD, IS SHULA BRILLIANT OR WHAT?!?!??" They were stunned. Pittsburgh had the long field to deal with and time ran out on them. The first time I'd seen an intentional safety.

Marinos 500+ yard game (I believe it was 521) @ NYJ in 87' (i think). I was at that game but i lost the ticket stub

When I read the thread title, Don Strock's playoff game in '82 immediately came to mind.

We're down 24-0 to San Diego in the second quarter at the Orange Bowl. Shula sends in Strock off the bench and before you know it, it's 24-24 at the half. Dolphins ended up losing in OT 41-38 thanks to Uwe von Schaman missing two game-winning FGs. But Strock finished with over 400 yards.

This was also the famous "Kellen Winslow" game where they carried him off the field. One of the greatest games in NFL history. ESPN Classic shows this thing constantly.

Marino's return from the Achilles in '94 vs. New England has to be up there too. Amazing game.

Everytime I look at the Cingular logo I think of oronde's catch, I was in brooklyn surrounded by jets fans when marino faked that spike, God that made my month-incredible. Jay's run vs Oakland was impressive (no one ever said he didn't have heart). but lamar's performance was all guts. I just rember seeing him drag colt's into the endzone for the win. that's the type of football I love (and why I lovED and currently hate ricky so much)...

Fav Team performance: Orange Bowl '85, Da Beerse walked into a hornet's nest...

I don't remember the year, but it was the first game of the season, after Marino ruptured his achelies tendon. It was against New England, and I remember the lead going back and forth numerous times. I think Marino ended up throwing 5 touchdown to beat NE by 7 points. One of the best games I have seen. The talk of Marino being washed up due to his injury made it all the more sweet of a feeling when we won due to Dan's arm.

Yes the one handed catch across the middle that he stretched out for. It was on the dirt infield. Looked like he was doing ballet while catching a pass:tongue: Best catch I have ever seen also.

I remember being upset at ESPN because it wasn't even their top play of the day. It was a long run by one of the RB'S.

Does anyone remember OLINDO AT DENVER and his Game winning kick. The same game we lost Fiedler(finger) and Chambers(kenoy kennedy hit) to injury. That was the most incredible kick i've ever seen.
