Big O: Hearing Peyton Manning to Dolphins, Reggie Wayne might follow

i for one thought DT looked pretty good at times last year. i dont think to OL hit any type of stride until bush took over. if Peyton and Wayne do land here, we've got to beef up the line to let the passing game shine.

Wayne is an excellent complement to marshall. could come at a discount to follow manning.

A healthy Peyton Manning, behind a line featuring Long, DeCastro and Pouncey, handing off to Bush and Thomas, throwing to Marshall, Wayne, Bess, Fleener, Clay. Oh yea.

jordy nelson ran a 4.51 and hartline ran a 4.49. insert hartline in the gb offense with his hands and you have an absolute stud. we don't exactly have aaron rodgers throwing the football here.

Hartline ran a 4.52 40 at the 2009 combine
and has 1 td in the past 26 games

if we do get manning and go for OL with our top pick, i would have to think we go for the best guard prospect due to the fact that Manning evades the rush and steps up very well in the pocket. Can't really step up if you're getting penetration right up the middle.

agreed.

dreaming of building an O-line that gets mentioned in the same breath as the Cowboys of the 90's (best ever):

Mark Stepnoski (5x Pro Bowl)
Nate Newton (6x Pro Bowl)
Larry Allen (11x Pro Bowl)
Erik Williams (4x Pro Bowl)
Mark Tuinei (2x Pro Bowl)

Long, Decastro, Pouncey is a good start.

Just by jettisoning Colombo, our oline is 10 sacks and 50 pressures better than last year.
I agree about Manning and the center of the pocket, it is crucial that our guards and center play well in pass protect.

I'm excited if there's any truth, that Manning/Wayne were working out together in South Beach. One thing is most certain."NOBODY" is better than Wayne to determine where Manning is in his recovery/rehab.Of the thousands of passes that Wayne has caught from him, nobody is better than Wayne knowing the velocity of Peyton's passes. He knows exactly what they're supposed to feel like.As much as I'm getting pumped about the possibilities,I've got to temper my hopes.....We've had our hearts broken too many times already!!!

If we get Manning, draft Tannehill. QB issues could be solved for 15 yrs.

I wonder if we could get a team to trade up to us to get a prized pass rusher and then take tannehill. that would be nice. then get curry in second w/ Fleener. no more losing close games. That would make us easy 11 game winners based on last season.

no problems with that here. saw decastro in the pulling drill. natural.

btw, any team that comes close to mannings head you know that flag is coming out.

Our best thing would be signing peyton and drafting Tannehill with our 2nd round pick or even moving up at the end of round 1 for him to groom for 2-3 years like Rodgers

I have been saying over and over that the idea of signing Manning scares the crap out of me. There is a chance he may never be anywhere close to what he was before his surgeries. I am backing off my statement that he might never take another snap, because I think he will take a snap next season. He might not be 100% healthy, but I don't think anyone is going to keep him off the field. Though we have to remember that Daunte Culpepper also played in 2006 but we saw what the results are when he wasn't completely healthy.

If Manning is 100% healthy and plays like he did before the surgeries, absolutely no question he should be the #1 target. The idea of a healthy Peyton Manning throwing passes to Brandon Marshall and Reggie Wayne and handing off to Reggie Bush is beyond exciting.

If Manning is not healthy, or the Colts do not release him, then I think they should go the Matt Flynn route. Only though if he is not franchised.

i heard Mortensen say that peyton was wayyy ahead of schedule , said all these people saying this and that about him not being able to throw and all was bull , said peyton was getting stronger and stronger everyday.
