Biggest Choke in Years

On the road, in the freezing rain, with no running game since ever, against the best pressure defense in the league with the worst offensive line in the entire NFL!! It wasn't a choke. It was ****ing destiny!

Not a choke just a huge weakness against a huge strength. What did you expect

It was absolutely 100% a choke. Don't talk about bad matchups. Don't talk about Buffalo's strength vs. the Dolphins weakness. Bottom line is that we played a team that had 4 wins all season against teams not from Miami. We had a playoff spot on the line. We beat San Diego, Pittsburgh, and New England over the past few weeks - Rivers, Roethlisberger, and Brady. And the entire coaching staff and playing staff, outside of Brandon Fields, blew chunks all over themselves. Tannehill, Hartline, Daniel Thomas, McKinnie, Pouncey, Wake, Odrick, Vernon, and some others played their worst games of the season. I think Wake made one stop for a loss all day. I don't think Odrick made a single play today. Wheeler, Misi, and Ellerbee were invisible outside of bad plays. All this while Buffalo ran the ball 51 times. Fred Jackson was consistently getting 3-4 extra yards....literally after being wrapped up by multiple tacklers.

This was the most complete franchise-wide choke in a long, long time.

The nfl is about match ups, the dolphins have statistically the worst oline in the league, the bills have the best dline in the league. This was true before the game even started. If you don't understand this you don't understand football. Did any other team buffalo play have a worse line? Statistically no. Doesn't matter if they have 4 wins. Horrible match up for Miami.

So what you're saying is that the coaches bear no responsibility here for putting their players in the position to succeed? It was pre-ordained that there was no way Miami could beat Buffalo this season because Buffalo has a great d-line and Miami has a bad o-line????

That makes no sense at all. None. The coaches job is to create a scheme to neutralize the opposing team's strengths. Every week. That is why they are coaching in the NFL. How do you slow a great pass rush?? Mike Sherman has been in football for a long time. Screens? Rollouts, moving the pocket? Making runs by the QB a threat, so the pass rush has to respect them? Did Miami do any of that today?

Did the Miami D sell out to stop the run on D??? No. Once Goodwin was hurt and Woods was ejected, there was no way Buffalo was going to start throwing the ball regularly. Stop the run. Run blitz.

This whole franchise choked today. I don't care who was playing on Buffalo's d-line.

Losing to the Bills 19-17 is a choke job. Losing 19-0, and not even coming close to scoring, is a f ing complete joke !!!

This was like the final game of last season, the one where the Patriots just beat the dog**** out of us. We played without passion, intensity or any sense of urgancy. Unreal, considering the importance of this game. How can an o-line not block anybody all damn day. Couldn't run for an inch, couldn't pass protect. Coming out and playing like we did today is just baffeling coming off a good performance against NE. They had no intensity, they looked so slow and inept. This team ignored running back and o-line and in the December games in the cold that will simply get you killed. We didn't challenge, we didn't compete and then I have to hear Philbin talk about his excellent week of preparation. Horsemanure! We were outcoached, outhustled and manhandled like total *******. I expected so much better, that's what really kills. We didn't show up and that's bullcrap. We couldn't have laid a bigger egg. Routed by the Bills for the second time. Thanks for the fun Sunday you provided me with Dolphins! 90% of the stuff in my den in brocken to pieces! Not sure how I missed the other 10%. They BETTER play a whole lot better next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all the people talking about that it being a tough matchup for the Dolphins, you are right. It is a tough matchup for the Dolphins.

However, nine of the other 13 teams that played the Bills this season found a way to deal with Buffalo's tough play along both lines. They obviously had advantages over the Bills in some areas that they were able to take advantage of to win.

The Dolphins didn't do that.

Heck, in the previous meeting, the Dolphins rushed for 120 yards and averaged 4.6 yards per carry. The Bills were 26th in the league against the run. The Dolphins, as bad as their line is, have run the ball better against better run defenses.

The matchups were tough, but there were matchups that were tough for the Bills, too. The Dolphins came in with everything to play for, everything in their hands ... and they laid an egg. The matchups didn't make this a 19-0 loss. The matchups and not being prepared to play made it 19-0.
