Up until 4 or 5 years ago, I would agree. Not now. The money is being spent, but it's not a window of opportunity for long. The networks are driving college football instead of the schools themselves. The conferences are too narrow-minded to think outside of their own selfish interests. There's no Pete Rozelle in college football like the NFL had back in the day, to tell them the good of the league (sport) will make for a strong league and all will profit.
For now though, they do have the NIL money for recruits. Solid portal use, including getting the cream of the crop in Ward last year. Top 10, even top 5 recruiting classes, for the past 3 years. Up until this year when it was all SEC and B1G schools in the top 10 with the new contracts in play. So, like I said, the window is closing, but for now, they can compete.
