Bills cut players

This is how the dominoes fall when you pay these mega contracts to QBs. Allen has a $47m cap hit next year and when you have nearly 10% of you cap tied up in one player the money gets much thinner across the other 50 odd players. Makes it difficult to retain top talent in other areas.

Same thing will happen to Ravens, Bengals, Chargers and Chiefs in the next few years. Roster imbalance will ultimately affect their ability to compete for championships. The only real way around it is to keep replenishing with quality players on rookie deals. That in turn puts pressure on consistently drafting the right players. A difficult feat in itself as it's hit and miss for even the best scouting teams. Beyond that you need to Moneyball the rest of your roster. That can keep you competitive but not necessarily a Super Bowl contender.

The Chargers have Harbaugh so their super bowl inspiration is looking šŸ‘†

They've just released half of their starting secondary, the starting centre and the return specialist who won them the division and are still $15M over the cap with less restructure space than the Dolphins. They are also losing a starting S, DT and WR to free agency next week when it opens up. If this was the Dolphins this place would be in full on meltdown.

They are completely blowing up their defence but are limited in cap space yet they are getting better while the Dolphins will be worse somehow.

Right. No matter how many players they replace, they'll probably still win playoff games next year while Miami keeps stumbling and losing. When will Ross get his head out of his butt?
 
Iā€™m good on T White. Father Time wonā€™t be kind to his recent injuries. Iā€™d take Poyer at the right price.
